Kostin is rumoured to want 2m or else bolt to the KHL

Yamo makes double what he should be and is quickly trending towards being a bust. The cap space is more valuable for Edmonton while Detroit gets to hopefully turn Yamos career around.

It makes sense for both teams. Thank you Yzerman for doing us a solid
Detroit needs to put money on the table. They’ll likely sign him. Shouldn’t be an issue. It’s nuts they couldn’t get anything for him.

Klim Kostin was a beast in the playoffs and scored timely goals. Big guy, plays with tenacity, the kind of player you need to win in the playoffs... which is what I thought the Oilers wanted to do. WTF Edmonton???:huh:
Not an Oilers fan but agree. He was one of there best players in playoffs. Hard forechecker, opened up space.

The name should change from the Stanley Cup to the Cap Space Cup the way it’s going

Yamamoto did have negative value then? Had to attach a piece to dump him.

At least we don't have to hear Oilers fans pretending like Yamamoto is an NHL player any longer.

So Holland maybe gets a steak dinner from Yzerman for trading away Yamamoto and Kostin for nothing. Oh wait.... maybe its Holland thats buying. Great asset management Kenny.

Kostin is a serviceable player but was already being overhyped on small sample size impact and the Oilers being thirsty for useful bodies in their bottom six last year.

They’ll be fine to fill out the edges of the Detroit roster for a year or two so they don’t have to rush any prospects. Any expectation above that is probably aiming too high.

Kostin was positively noticeable for the Oilers in the playoffs. Be interesting to see what he can do with the Wings and more ice time.

he had some good moments and then he had moments like this where his teammates tried to help him mid-shift and he still didn't respond to the push

project for sure to stay in the line up

Smart trade guy the oilers. All it cost to dump Yamamoto was a 4th liner they couldn’t afford.

Good job by Holland. Cap space found.
