As an Avs fan, hate Kiszla and our broadcasters to be honest.

You'll be hard pressed to find any Avs fans that will defend much that comes out of the Denver post - it's an absolute joke, and even when we're good there's barely any coverage. Dater was a joke and Kiszla might be just as bad. Don't lump us in with them!

Article is stupid, but let's not pretend that the Preds are blowing anyone away like they were supposed to. Let's just say I'm glad the Avs aren't playing Vegas because they actually have a chance against Nashville.

The coverage of the Avs in Denver is generally pathetic, what else is new. Not entirely sure this is thread-worthy - the Denver Post is a well acknowledged joke. The sooner The Athletic comes to Colorado the better off everyone will be.

The Predators are still up 2-1 in the series aren't they?

What does that make Colorado then?

Youngest team in the league in a developing season missing their #1 D, #1 goalie, and #4 D, keeping things fairly close against the President's trophy winners that just made the cup final.

Was this written by the Avs play by play guys? Because if yes, that wouldn't surprise me at all. They're horrendous with the homerism.
Bold talk from someone whose team has Jim Hughson commentating on it

Literally every Avalanche fan will tell you Kiszla is a clown, and I'm not surprised the Denver Post is putting out mewling editorials about being failed by its ownership if it's continuing to employ him.

According to this column they can't even keep up with a bunch of pretenders

Nashville definitely doesn't have any cups. They also haven't sucked badly enough to have 6 top 10 picks in the last 10 years. 4 top 5 picks in that span. They've been a decently consistent franchise over the past 15 years in regards to making the playoffs and are now set up to be pretty competitive for the next few years. I'd definitely prefer the Nashville path from 2001 - 2018 vs. the Colorado path if I were that writer.

(Avs fans - Not anything meant as a jab towards you. It's more towards the idiot click bait writer, who is still living back in the glory days when he probably still rocked a pager. I admittedly did not click.)

By way of apology if any visiting Preds fans want to stomp Kiszla it will not be met by protest.

Do a search for Kiszla on the Avs board and see what estimation he's held in there.

I remember getting really mad about an Avs-biased Denver Post article in 1996.

At least they're consistent.

edit: now that I think about it, I think that may have been the first time I ever got Mad On The Internet.

OP buried the lead. Landeskog's quote's are as LOL worthy as the rest of it.

“Some of their guys, that’s they way they want to play,” Avalanche captain Gabe Landeskog said. “They want to play after whistles, not in between. And we’re just the opposite.”

I'm at least glad to see the Post is getting some viewership from outside the state of Colorado cause lord knows nobody in Colorado reads that trash anymore.

If they fire anymore employees they'll be extinct.

We've played like garbage through 3 games so it's not that far off. That said, don't think Avs are getting enough credit for how well they've played this series. They are head and shoulders above LA, Anaheim and Minnesota, imo. Talented young team with nothing to lose.

You understand that local announcers are supposed to be homers, don't you?

You don't broadcast locally and attempt to sound national. You're not catering to a national audience, you're catering to a mostly local audience. AKA, pander to the home team. It'd be moronic if local announcers pandered to the opposing team.

I agree. Nashville ain't that great tbh. They've been outplayed by freaking Colorado. Lucky they have Rinne and Colorado has Bernier. Could be 3-0 Colorado. Scored first every game and their speed is giving Nashville fits.

So lucky Colorado is hurt. They'd lose.

Didn't Dater once upon a time suggest PA Parenteau as the centerpiece for a Subban trade?

Good to see things haven't changed.

Its worst, Its the writers... and they still have the announcers on the side.
The homerism is strong in denver.
Maybe because of this.
