I think that's a very good interview with Crawford from yesterday... probably been posted but if you haven't watched it.

I'll probably be skewered for saying this, but I would have been fine giving Cameron some time to grow into the position. It's unrealistic to give a guy his first head coaching job on a mediocre team and expect immediate positive results. But point taken.

I'm betting on the assistant being Rob Cookson.

Assistant coach to Marc Crawford the past 4 years, and was Guy Boucher's assistant the past 2 Spengler Cups as well...winning the most recent one this past January, was also an assistant coach for the Flames for a decade.

Was he a poor assistant coach? He and Maclean did very well together in the first 2 seasons. obviously things fell apart in years 3 and 4 though.

Aside from that, Crawford also brings some other qualities to the table, like 15 yrs of HC experience at the NHL level.
