Can Montreal fans pipe in and summarize what kind of player Tampa is getting at this point in time?

He's a good bottom 6 player who can play powerplay minutes around the net.

The good:

He has underrated playmaking ability. He finds ways to get pucks to his teammates whether it's in traffic and tight areas or otherwise. This gets lost because he's generally been known as a goal scorer throughout his career.

He's smart. He still has the ability to make something out of nothing. They call him the worm because he somehow wiggles his way to create room for himself to get shots off or shake defenders. His hands are still there. I used to think the worm name was a reference to him being a pest, but old teammates say otherwise. He's a big guy, who can help extend offensive zone time with his ability to protect the puck. He just always seem to make the right play with it.

He continues to be a big game player. You see him rise the most when the team needs something the most. He's been able to elevate his game two years in a row now in the post season.

The bad:

There's only one knock, and that's his skating. He was easily the slowest player on montreal, but he's so smart that it won't bug you too much. There's a highlight you can find where Perry got a breakaway pass against Vegas in the semi finals, except the defender caught up to perry because he is so slow. But just when you think the chance is dead, Perry somehow found Caufield behind him, who was able to one time the puck home.

That play is Perry in a nutshell.

I suppose the other negative is his age and mileage, but that should go without saying. The next injury could be his last, or he could suddenly fall of a cliff in terms of the hockey player he is, but he showed no indication of that last season
