Galchenyuk for Giroux straight up.
Philly get's a bit younger, sheds some salary.
Montreal seems to be a bit more competitive now, could use a #1 C to play with Drouin.
negative value. 5 years left at almost 8.3 mil for a slow small declining production center. no thanks.
Embarrassing.
Just embarrassing.
His production decline is obviously a concern, but the idea that he has negative value is rather laughable.
I don't agree he has negative value but I do agree that it's a massive risk acquiring his contract. I've talked to many other fans of other teams and most people who are not Flyer fans agree that it's a major risk. Flyers take a bit of bite if they want to unload that contract for a declining player

Bobby Ryan is from Cherry Hill
I can tell you this. If Philly is trading Giroux it's not because they are unloading him, it's because another team like the Habs for example have offered up a package too good to be true. Yes because of the cap there may be some retention but that would only mean more value coming back.
Giroux will once again prove that he is a top 10 centre in the league this year and these threads will lie dormant until the 2019 off-season where he may have had a year not as good as his previous. Rinse repeat add a little salt, congrats you made HF Forum Cheese!

Wouldn't Giroux (NMC) just nix any trade or limit possibilities significantly? Have to find a perfect fit for team and player which is tough.
Giroux + Simmonds to EDM
for
Draisaitl + Pouliot
Draisaitl-Patrick-Couturier down the middle for PHI
McDavid-Giroux -RNH down the middle for EDM
His production has declined steadily since '12, from 1.21 ppg to 0.71 ppg. Don't know what's wrong with him but it isn't just 1 or even 2 bad seasons. He isn't worth his contract anymore.
