I think it is way to early to think McLeod will be ready for 2C next season. He may get that opportunity because of Zajac not being able to play there anymore and Zacha not being good enough, but I'll reserve judgement until training camp at the least.

I am glad though that we are being patient with him.

A third of the way through the year, it's about time to look at our off-season prospect rankings. Some guys likely will shoot up the charts (Walsh, Studenic, Bratt, Davies, Chainey) while other guys will probably fall (Blackwood, Popugayev, Speers)

Given how he looked in preseason this year, I'm going with highly doubtful.

This is completely irrelevant to next year.

His year in juniors combined with WJC will tell a lot,more then a few preseason games.
It's not completely irrelevant to think a kid who is not ready for the NHL one year will not be the #2 center the next year.

Could he show tremendous growth this season. Sure. Do I expect it? Not to the point of him being our #2 C. Is that a knock? No.
