Is +/- relevant again? I thought that's a useless stat when talking about McDavid and Draisaitl?Nurse has as many ES points as Kadri does this year and has the best +/- on the team at +21
may wanna keep Nurse out of this

The stars aligned for them to rebuild with Gaudreau and Tkachuk wanting out and Bedard draft coming up and they decided to double down and remain mediocre.Coleman, Huberdeau, Markstrom, Weegar, and Kadri are all going to be enjoying their retirement contracts come next year. What a mess the Flames are in...
IDK how Treliving still has a job.
He wont after this season, no matter what happens.IDK how Treliving still has a job.
fine, use ES goal differential...still tops on the team at +17Is +/- relevant again? I thought that's a useless stat when talking about McDavid and Draisaitl?
Yeah....imagine a world where Calgary doesn't sign Kadri (so doesn't need to dump salary), turns around an flips Huberdeau (would at least return a 1st + good prospect) and Weegar (likely returns another 1st). Calgary could have easily had 4 1sts in the draft, along with other assets. The stars aligned for them to rebuild with Gaudreau and Tkachuk wanting out and Bedard draft coming up and they decided to double down and remain mediocre.
Imagine how much better spot they'd be in if they blew it up in the offseason and is in the Bedard sweepstake. Even if they don't win the lottery this is one of the deepest draft in years.
nice of you to completely omit the whole "has the same amount of ES points" part of the argument. good oneIs +/- relevant again? I thought that's a useless stat when talking about McDavid and Draisaitl?
Points are points, wtf cares where they come from? Kadri has 14 points more. If you only want to look at even strength points then all the sudden McDrai doesn't even look impressive at all.nice of you to completely omit the whole "has the same amount of ES points" part of the argument. good one
not sure if you know how to read tables but im happy to give you pointersPoints are points, wtf cares where they come from? Kadri has 14 points more. If you only want to look at even strength points then all the sudden McDrai doesn't even look impressive at all.
Guess MacKinnon>>>>McDavid. Admitted by Oilers fans.

He's better because he has a higher points per game average. Really not that difficult? Do you lack common sense? 9 more points in 14 more games?not sure if you know how to read tables but im happy to give you pointers
68 games > 54 games
35 EVG > 21 EVG
65 EVP > 56 EVP
everyone knows McDrai shine on the PP like no other can in the league and their 5on5 is not their strength at times. not sure what you're trying to prove considering absolutely no one reasonable denies that. unlike your argument about MacKinnon somehow being better because he has a higher EVP/g than Connor? actual totals >>> per game averages
Should make the playoffs? Haha
We're pretty easily better than last year. Contracts probably won't age well but that's future us problem.
How exactly? Kadri is extremely unlikely to repeat the same success he had last Season, you lost two 100+ point players and replaced them with one.
Weeger is obviously a nice pick up, but I feel the Flames are most definitely in for regression next season.
This isn't going to end well for the Flames, and I don't think it's going to take more than 2-3 years for that to become blatantly obvious to everyone.
What an idiot this guy is.Huh...is this a question? They are easily a top 2 team in the Pacific. Lindholm-Kadri-Backlund down the middle is very good. Huberdeau and Mangiapane among others on the wing. Very deep D. Very good goaltending.
only in the NHL do players success get discounted because they can be healthy and play every game and average higher time on iceHe's better because he has a higher points per game average. Really not that difficult? Do you lack common sense? 9 more points in 14 more games?
Maybe if you're talking about 10 games vs 60 games. We're talking 68 games vs 54 games.only in the NHL do players success discounted because they can be healthy and play every game and average higher time on ice
stats show that when a player plays less games, their per game averages tend to be higher and just because their p/60 is higher doesn't mean it will reflect on their raw point totals if their time on ice increased, in fact its shown that it decreases
actual point production >>>> anything your strawman fallacy arguments can come up with
my brother in christ, there is still a 14 goal difference at 5 on 5 regardless of anythingMaybe if you're talking about 10 games vs 60 games. We're talking 68 games vs 54 games.
Sure players come out on fire for the first 10-20 games and put up insane numbers they'll come back down to Earth but we're talking about a 54 games sample size here.
I thought you said points were points. He's better because he has a higher points per game average. Really not that difficult? Do you lack common sense? 9 more points in 14 more games?
you have to pay up to get free agents to sign in Albertathis thread is hilarious lol
like I said in this thread at the time...signing a 32 year old player on an outlier season to a retirement contract was risky as hell
and he's not getting any younger or better...
woof what an awful contract, but Treliving's ego got in the way

Not really, I called out Calgary pretty hard in the post before. Glad the Avs dodged that bullet. You’re being purposefully obtuse to argue that a retirement contract for a guy you’re a fan of is anything but an ugly contract. Come on. Even most Flames fans think this was a junk signing at this point.

Why is he a bad person?Bad person... bad contract. Bad.
