f***ing hell, I missed an important one that should be included in the Canes Hall of Fame
Tim Gleason
Tim Gleason
Wow, way to be bitter over his departure for more $$$...rude name-callingAt some point - Hamilton the Pig
Thinking it through, here's how I would do it. I'm choosing 2 per year because I think 3 is too many.
2023 - Brind'amour, Francis, Wesley
2024 - E. Staal, Ward
2025 - Rutherford, Williams
2026 - Irbe, Karmanos
2027 - Forslund, Tracy
2028 - Cole, J. Staal (after he retires)
2029 - Gleason, Tatomir
2030 - Jokinen, Maurice
2031 - O'Neill, Whitney
2032 - Kapanen, Skinner
2033+ hopefully we have some newer guys coming up for eligibility by then
Joe Giglio just said on the radio that Ron is the one keeping Rod out of the HoF and he doesn't want Ron in the HHoF.
Does anyone know what hes talking about?
I think it’s only 1 player and 1 contributor per year
I don't buy it.Joe Giglio just said on the radio that Ron is the one keeping Rod out of the HoF and he doesn't want Ron in the HHoF.

I'd probably go with Skip Cunningham for that one. Kinda think he should be an automatic with the retired number players, even.Contributor #1 is a tough one…
I think JR is probably the right call but there’s a lot of great candidates.
Right. Ron definitely has a legit beef with the Canes at this point, but to the point that he would take it out on one of the guys that was one of his best friends in the league? I don't see it.I'm very mixed on how I feel about Ronnie at this point, but I don't particularly believe that. Granted, I feel like their have been hints at the politics of the situation, so it could be plausible. But I'd want a way better source.
Yeah, Rod has said he's not in due to politics, but I really doubt it's Ron. My suspicion is something to do with how vocal he's always been willing to be about the league's shortcomings in private and in public, going back at least to the lockout and in the current era with the refs. There have been some rumblings that Bettman took him grabbing the cup and skipping the photo op as a massive insult as well.Right. Another excellent case in point: Kevin Lowe.If there's any way in which Ronnie might be a barrier to Rod's induction, it might be that he's not loud enough about going to bat for his buddy. It really seems the HHOF operates along the lines of certain guys boosting for their favorites until they get in, which is how we get silly stuff like Housley getting inducted ahead of Makarov, or Carbonneau getting inducted at all. You can almost draw a straight line between controversial inductees and their golfing buddies on the committee, while the ones conspicuously left on the sidelines are the Turgeon types who have an argument on paper but rubbed people the wrong way.

I could see a scenario where Rod could get in if he had an advocate on the committee who would pound the table and badger people for votes. But I have a very hard time imagining that kind of energy coming off of Ron Francis, not out of maliciousness but out of simply not being that kind of guy.
The real reason he is not yet in the Hall is because he insists his plaque be one of his abs instead of his face. All the other guys are too embarrassed by the comparison to let him in.I'd imagine the politics of Rod's situation really boils down to him either being way too handsome to be on one of those plaques in the HHOF, or the fact they think he'll make them look bad with how chiseled he still is.
It's honestly just a matter of when for RBA at this point. I think the case is too compelling as he adds coaching achievements to deny him entirely. If you captain a team to a Cup and win the Jack Adams and the Selke twice... at what point does the the snub start to become too obvious?
Noticed this as well over the past couple years. And Tripp never mentioned JF in all his thanking people who reached out to him, etc. during his recent struggles. One thing that has struck me during all this Tripp drama is how loud the silence is from John. I don't think the relationship was as close as we might have assumed. Perhaps another casualty of what was assumed to be misplaced loyalty. Once both started to be more active on Twitter, I assumed they would banter quite a bit and there's been none of that at all.
