This is a very cool idea, and I wanted to propose something to the boards as a fun list-making thing.

Looks like we get one player and one "contributor" into the Hall of Fame each year. What I want to see from each of you is your prioritized list of Canes HOFers that you'd select. Players is more fun but if you want to throw contributors into the mix go for it. Could be a fun debate ("Irbe should be in before Whitney", etc.)

Staal and Ward are the obvious no-brainers. Irbe and Francis are also easy inductions. Beyond that it gets a little less clear cut. I’m guessing Cole and Gleason get in for their combo of playing contributions and off-ice roles. Williams for his leadership contributions during his second stint here. I don’t love O’Neill but you kind of have to consider him. And then a whole slew of guys who are still active.

Love irbe but Whitney has a better case. Played in more playoff games, won a cup, wore a letter, led team in scoring. This is absolutely splitting hairs of course but I read that and had the gut reaction that I had to write out

I did see that current players are excluded from the HoF until they are at least 1 calendar year removed from their last game. So a few of these players are going to have issue getting in (EStaal, Skinner, McGinn, Mrazek)

Could just be my bias, but honestly, yeah, give Rosie a shot. In terms of being an "energy guy", I don't think this franchise has had one as successful as he was, both on and off the ice.
