The doghouse
Just a few years ago they traded away Suzuki, Tatar, a 2nd rounder for pacioretti…who has since been a PPG player.

But because they got distracted by the latest shiny toy, they had to dump him for nothing.

What a joke. The team doesn’t understand asset management or roster construction. They lucked themselves int a team built on great chemistry…and blew it up

No choice but to give away a point per game player on a contract below market value for free?

Sorry, but you are wrong.
Obviously not, as they just did it.

They’re lucky they didn’t have to pay someone. If it were Karlsson, who they’ve been trying to move, they would’ve had to pay big futures. At least this way, they didn’t have to pay. Now at least, they can make a trade and actually get something in return. They still have to sign Hague, so don’t be surprised if they move Theodore for a winger. Or Hague for a lessor winger.

They made a lot of bad moves and they’re paying for it.

Patches should fit in nicely with Carolina, replaces some of the scoring they lost with the Trocheck signing. S

Still have no clue how this deal got done

Lmao.

This screams to me that Vegas sees a new shiny toy in Gaudreau and are desperate for cap space.

Edit; actually do they have cap space even with this trade? Maybe they were Only desperate for cap space.

Teams must really hate Vegas if everyone treated Pacioretty as a cap dump.

Or it just happened to be a summer where not a single team in Pacioretty's 20 team trade list, other than Carolina, wanted/had the space for a 7M winger.

And maybe Vegas didn't want to trade him to their divisional rivals.

Probably a combination of all 3.

They traded a 1st, 2nd and 3rd to acquire Tatar in February 2018 then traded him in September 2018 along with Suzuki and a 2nd rounder for Patches, only to lose him for free.

Essentially they got half a season from Tatar and a few seasons from Patches while giving up 2 1sts, 2 2nds and a 3rd lol. Asset management at its finest! Making Dubas look good.
