Agree with everyone. The Canes seems to be asleep at the wheel. Dubas go get one of their D-man. NOW!!!

If that was the best return they could have gotten for Skinner, they should have just kept him.

Skinner on Eichel's wing will be fun.

Sabres are going to be good this year, especially if Dahlin plays. (And I'm sure he does.)

Pretty surprising return. I'm guessing it's partly due to his injury concerns and pending UFA status though.

Even if it’s a rental that they end up flipping at the deadline it’s worth it. Eichel played with Pominville and Girgensons last year.

And to not give up any of their three firsts next year or even one of their top 2 C prospects is good stuff to me. Pu is a fine prospect though.

What I’m curious about is the rumor that Skinner had been holding up or rejecting trades but accepted one to the last place team. Was that rumor crap or was he just fine playing closer to home?

Buffalo is not a good team. The 2019 2nd will be high. There shouldn't be a huge difference between say Pittsburgh's 1st and that pick.

Still, I'm a disappointed fan. I would have been willing to forgo that type of return for the 1 year of Skinner. It's time to move on from asset accumulation mode. I guess the FO disagrees.

Great deal for the Sabres. Not sure I get this deal for the Hurricanes, was this really the best they could get from teams Skinner would waive his NMC for ?
