Reading the past couple of pages I think we can all say one things for certain. The California road trip at the beginning of November will truly tell us if the Sedins have been feasting on the weak or are back for good.

Not only that, but I think it'll be a good measuring stick on where this team really is.

For team points rather than individual player points, I predict the Canucks get 164 points during the regular season plus another 32 points in the playoffs,
:laugh::D:handclap:

As a Canuck fan, can we expect anything less? :naughty::yo:

just to be petty, but there are no "points" in the playoffs. However I would be pretty much the happiest man alive if the Canucks could (as you predicted) get 16 wins in the playoffs ...

I'd be happy with 6-7 wins in the playoffs for this squad in the playoffs..

to be top tier, we'd need Horvat (3rd line) and both Jensen/Shinkaruk to step it up in 2015/16 along with a Jeff Carter clone in our 2nd line.

well the 13 games with nothing more than a 1 day break starting tues will be interesting. By the end of that we will have a pretty good idea of what we have.

I actually think the California road trip will see the Sedin line statistically have very few points, mainly because the other teams top lines will play them to about a draw.
That is why I think our 2nd-4th lines are going to need to be good; because I don't see us as deep as LA, ANA and San Jose.

I actually think it will be about a .500 road trip and I will not be disappointed if they play well as a team.

I don't see SJ as a deep team beyond their top 6...
Top forwards are DEEP: Pavelski, Couture, Thornton Marleau, Hertl, eventually Nieto..
Then they have Wingels, McGuinn, Tierny, Burish, Desjardins, Scott/Brown/Hayes

there is a weakness there to be exploited i feel... at least over the course of 82... and if not by us, by many others.

Solid projections to be honest, except Matthias may be too high.

Here's what I got:

Daniel: 18g 33a 51p
Henrik: 13g 44a 57p
Vrbata: 21g 20a 41p
Higgins: 16g 18a 34p
Bonino: 14g 23a 37p
Burrows: 15g 18a 33p
Matthias: 7g 11a 18p
Richardson: 9g 15a 24p
Kassian: 18g 18a 36p
Dorsett: 5g 7a 12p
Vey: 8g 18a 26p
Hansen: 12g 18a 30p
Horvat: 1g 1a 2p (sent back)
Sestito: 4g 5a 9p
Others: 5g 5a 10p

Hamhuis: 5g 20a 25p
Bieksa: 6g 26a 32p
Edler: 10g 27a 37p
Tanev: 7g 17a 24p
Sbisa: 3G 10a 13p
Stanton: 3G 12a 15p
Weber: 3G 8a 11p
Corrado/others: 2g 4a 6p

205 goals

Miller: 25-27-5 with a 2.68GAA and 0.912SVP
Lack: 13-7-5 with a 2.45 GAA and 0.917SVP

Interesting to go back and review these. Brad Richardson may shatter what I had predicted. Meanwhile Bieksa likely won't even get close.

Team has 114 goals halfway thru 1/2 the season...

A nice bump to their rough season total of last yr - 196... but they could only go up from that number right....
They were the highest scoring team in the West up until about 10 games ago... which was unexpected.

Here's hoping they get back to their earlier pace with Hammer and without the flu...

The top line is going to obliterate your predictions. Daniel needs 16 points in 41 to get there. Hank needs 21 in 41. Vrbata needs 12 points in 41 games.

I wish some other guys other than Richardson were exceeding your expectations.

Nevermind, Dorsett is already exceeding them.

I don't think they live up to their 1st half splits, we've seen it too often, but I don't think they completely fall off the map.

For the second half, I would buy stock in Kassian, Matthias, Horvat, Edler... and i guess Bieksa only because he couldn't be any worse...

i would predict them all to have a better second 41 than their first 41...

Kassian in particular... Preseason injury.. led to his slow first 10... then the 3rd line caught nicely.... then his lower body injury... came back before his legs were there and looked lethargic... then breaks his finger... comes back skating great... but his hands are playing catch up...
Just a rough all around first 41 for the kid.

If he gets a run of health here, he could be in for a decent finish... and at least he's at full health right now for gm 1 of the final 41.
(if Kassian gets confident and gets going Matthias should be dragged along as well)

I don't know about that. I don't think the Sedins are going to finish much higher, if at all, than 70 points. Kinda right where I would have expecetd. Still quality first line players, but I just don't think they are going to have any more crazy 12 points in 5 games kinda stretches any more.

I think he just means the players he mentions in his first paragraph

On pace to have only 1 player with more than 20 goals, and as others have said, most of these guys won't likely keep up current projections as the season drags on.

I mean we all know we have scoring issues, but that really lays it out. Sad remembering years ago having like 5 or 6 guys score more than 20.

what strikes me most here is the games played...aside from hamhuis the canucks haven't lost a key player to injury yet and all of their top-6 forwards are on pace for at least 77gp

everyone blames torts for last year's second half circus, but injuries played a significant role as well and this team is kind of due for some bad luck on the injury front unfortunately

Major injuries were the result of overplaying the top line ...

Just seemed like bad luck and the injuries to Hank(rib), Sanforelli (shoulder) and Booth (concussion) were done by Martin Hanzal.

Daniel got his knee hurt in the heritage game.

Tanev for blocking a shot.

I blame torts for sapping their will, but blaming him for contact injures just doesn't hold.

Not to mention burrows, jaw was from his own player (I think).

Torts had a bad 2nd half but I think it wouldn't be very fair to lay these injuries at his feet.

Henrik was due for an injury.
