You guys will love him, he has a very good chance of being a very good top 6 center. Don't be surprised if he makes a push to start in the top 9 to start the season. BTW has there been rumors of Eric Staal actually returning to Carolina? Just out of curiosity since he has to take a major pay cut no matter where he goes.

General consensus around here is that both Eric and the organization have said their final goodbyes already, and neither would benefit from a reunion tour.

Personally I could kind of see him coming back at the very end, like Messier to the Rangers. But for now the timing is all wrong. Both sides need to move on.

Thats surprising since i heard his wife loves it there i figured they would be firmly entrenched no matter where he winds up. IDK your cap situation for next year but if you need to get to the floor I thought the canes might go that route for one year.

I think it's important mentally for the fans and the franchise to move on from both Staal and Ward. Which is why we will prob sign both.

I'm guessing Lethargic was being sarcastic on the house for sale comment?

EDIT: I guess not

Getting to the floor won't be an issue. Canes have to add about $15M in cap space. Aho, Rask and a #7 D will take up $5-6M of that. So that leaves $10M for 5-6 more forwards that the team has to sign and a goalie.

As bad as Staal is now,WTF happened to Cam Ward? 10 years ago the thought was Ward and Henrik will be the 2 best for the next generation. Thats one guy you can't bring back, he's lucky if hell find a backup job.
