Stats are not what keep you up in the big leagues. At least not the only thing anyway. Michel Therrien has said it numerous times, he likes Galchenyuk's work ethic and drive. I could see Bergevin sending him back if he looked out of place, step behind in the NHL's speed, or clearly overmatches. In those three cases, he hasn't. He's been good with and without the puck and if he can play the last two games of his five game stint like that, he'll be sticking around.

Of course, the quick fix of sending him down is re-inserting Eller into the line-up.

That's why I think he'll be sent down. If Eller can do just as well as Galchenyuk in that 3rd line center position, why waste a year of his ELC and hurt Eller's development in the process?

He missed all of last season in the minors. He will be sent down for sure, unless he absolutely dazzles the next few games .
