No way the Sens would ever send a captain or assistant captain in a trade with the Bruins
They would need a 3rd party IMO. Bruins have assets that would be good for a team that is rebuilding such as their '25 and '26 first rounders, Poitras, Lysell, Lohrei and to a lesser extent Beecher. They also have Ullmark who would appeal to Ottawa. My point is they don't have the asset to land Tkachuk.
Sens arent rebuilding, the GM has said literally every public appearance that their priority is bringing in seasoned vetsThey would need a 3rd party IMO. I stand corrected. Take that and runSwayman Carlo Poitras Frederic + 2x1st for Brady and Korpisalo
Yeah, I know. Which is why my first sentence said they would need a 3rd team involved and went on to explain that a rebuilding team might be the right fit as a 3rd team.Sens arent rebuilding, the GM has said literally every public appearance that their priority is bringing in seasoned vets
Gotcha, I misunderstood.Yeah, I know. Which is why my first sentence said they would need a 3rd team involved and went on to explain that a rebuilding team might be the right fit as a 3rd team.
It would be a pretty short list. What's a realistic list of players that the Sens would trade Brady Tkachuk for, 1 for 1?
Weird thing to say about a 24 year old with three consecutive 30+ goal seasons (and on pace to hit 40)Brady Tkachuk remains the most overrated trade asset I've ever seen.
Huberdeau? It would be a pretty short list.

By begging, you mean challenging to a fight.Ullmark(1yr), Carlo(3yr), Frederick(1yr), DeBrusk(UFA Rights), Fabian Lysell and a 2026 1st
If that does not guarantee a turnaround next season for Ottawa then I don't know what to tell you.
90% Ullmark is gone this summer from Boston in a trade, 100% by TDL if not.
Brandon Bussi is ready to graduate from the AHL and back up Swayman next season. Swayman needs a contract(RFA) and moving UIlmark gives them money to do that.
Carlo is a large defense first D that can still move the puck well. Gem.
Frederick is an emerging power forward.
Jake DeBrusk is a UFA and if Sens want his rights at the first shot to sign then he is of value in this deal.
Fabian Lysell is an NHL-ready RW with speed and playmaking ability.
Upgrade for Ottawa in Goal, Defense, and youth forwards.
Ottawa loses their captain but makes the playoffs as the owner wants.
No this is not realistic for either team, but neither is this thread TBH. Boston has 25mill this summer to go big game hunting for a young 1C.
Just like it reads, not hard to understand, as that’s all I saw Brady doing. What?
OK, what does that have to do with what I said?Just like it reads, not hard to understand, as that’s all I saw Brady doing.
Maybe it’s clearer if I post it again.

Matthew and Timo were basically free agents at the end of the year - one made it clear he wasn’t coming back and the other the team made clear wasn’t coming back. Unless Brady comes out and publicly asks for a trade his value on the market will be higher because the team is under no obligation to trade him.Look at the trade values thrown around here.
Look at what his much better brother Matthew got (with 8 years of term attached instead of 4).
Look at the timo Meier trade. Compare Meier the 2 years pre trade to tkachuks numbers and you'll find they're virtually identical, with the edge from Brady Tkachuk being that he's younger, and a "pest", while Meier was much better defensively.
Basically the only scenario stars are ever traded is when they ask out.Matthew and Timo were basically free agents at the end of the year - one made it clear he wasn’t coming back and the other the team made clear wasn’t coming back. Interesting! Thanks for the info.Brady Tkachuk remains the most overrated trade asset I've ever seen.
Sure, but looking at Timo. The team very easily could have signed him (or at the least picked up his QO). Brady is signed for 4 more years at a reasonable number so the team can always dip their toe in to see what’s out there but certainly under no obligation. It’s not as if they’re an aging team like the sharks were and just trying to plan for down the road. Ottawa still has a lot of young pieces.Basically the only scenario stars are ever traded is when they ask out.
Any Brady Tkachuk trade assumes either A) the player wants out, or B) the team is shopping him
