There's 0 chance of this happening for the Bruins. Let's play with the scenario that Tkachuk wants out. Bruins will be outbid by countless other teams. From NJ alone we would offer 1st round pick(top 10 pick), Mercer, Holtz, 2nd round pick. (We could even add Casey if need be). Bruins couldn't touch that type of package.

Pens would want to be in on this. Prospect pool isn't great but nothing off the table. Brayden Yager, Owen Pickering, 2024 top 10 1st. Tkachuk fills a Guentzel sized hole and then some on that roster.

Pass on offering all that for Tkachuk.

Take out Mercer and sure.

top 10 pick+2nd+Holtz.

Timo meier pre trade had IDENTICAL production to tkachuk. use that price as your baseline

Player A:
0.95 PPG, 0.445 GPG. Physical power forward winger who brings grit, struggles defensively. Cost over next 4 seasons 32.8 mill
Player B:
0.955 PPG, 0.49GPG. Physical power forward winger who brings grit, solid defensively.
Cost over next 4 seasons: 29.4 mill

Player A is Tkachuk
Player B is Meier in the 2 years prior to his trade.

Meier recieved a late 1st, 2nd with conditions to upgrade, quality prospect, waiver fodder dman, and decent young asset.

What's a realistic list of players that the Sens would trade Brady Tkachuk for, 1 for 1?
If I'm Staios, I'd ask for Pastrnak or McAvoy straight up. Otherwise there's no conversation to be had...pretty certain Ottawa ain't trading Tkachuk unless they get a Pastrnak in return

Maybe if it was Matthew Tkachuk

Would love to have him on the Jets. Like father like son.

Would add a different dimension to the top 6.

If Brady Tkachuk is a physical power forward, Timo Meier is something less. If Timo Meier is a physical power forward, Brady Tkachuk is something more. Pretty simple.

Meier is far more physically comparable to Batherson (who is obviously not a power forward) than Tkachuk. Really invalidates your entire argument, which makes the fact that you keep posting it pretty funny.

Batherson: 127 hits per 82
Meier: 140 hits per 82
Tkachuk: 282 hits per 82

Meier is closer to a player who has never laid a single hit than he is to Brady Tkachuk (in terms of physical play).

Player A - 226 hits , 8.2 cap hit, 31 goals , 57 points , one has a lot of career fights

Player B - 89 hits, 8.8 cap hit, 21 goals, 38 points , one has a few career fights

Physically not close to the same game.

Ok shut down the thread then, since a) or B) don’t qualify.
I’ve had Bruins season tickets 40 years

The Tkachuks have had season tickets 40 years

There seats are a few sections over

They are Bruins fans

Logic is the would rather have Brady on Boston then Ottawa

Do it Donny - bring him home (let the grandkids play infront of their grand parents)

Unfortunately Swayman probably would have to go but Bussi legit and Ullmark doesn’t want to leave

Oh yeah? Well in NHL21 both Meier and Tkachuk are PWF. So there!

I honestly don't think Boston have the assets unless they're moving Pasta or McAvoy. Goalies do not carry the kind of value required to obtain a teams best player and captain.

Taking out Mercer wouldn't land us Tkachuk. Mercer would 100% be on the table for Tkachuk. Would it suck? Yeah but when you want to land a real power forward you do it and don't think twice. Tkachuk is a different player than Meier. He's better in every department and I believe he has another gear to unlock. Acquiring him would put our top 6 over the top and have a power forward on each line making us harder to play against

Player B: 57 games 31 goals 51 points, 112 hits.

Meier's production AFTER the trade has no bearing to his value when he was actually traded

No one takes Meier over Brady in a poll lol.
Well again, Meier in the 2 years pre trade had IDENTICAL production to what tkachuk has the last 2 years.

Tkachuk provides pest, Meier played much better defense
