There is no need for Orr trophy. If there were better defensemen in the league Karlsson wouldn't win plain and simple. We just lack real high end defenseman in the league. I see no Bourques, Chelios, Lidstroms or Prongers heck there isn't even defensemen as good as peak Chara in the league. If there were that kinda players in the league Karlsson wouldn't win because of his "offensive numbers", but because there aren't defensemen in the league that can make up for the cap offensively compared to Karlsson with their all around play Karlsson has very easy time winning.

You act like having a trophy for top offensive dman named after Orr is some sort of a slur on #4

Holy hell what is this? I'm pointing out the irony of naming an award for the best offensive Defenseman after a guy who was the best all-around Defenseman arguably ever, so that the award for best all-around Defenseman doesn't get watered down.

Too many trophies as it is. No need for more.

My feeling too. No point in splitting it. Just diluting things.

Let the best be the best and in elite, one-per-year company. Nothing has changed to suggest this is needed.
