Just learning that he was bought out (missed that).

Great move.

I wouldn't pencil him in on the 4th line just yet (given LW depth).
Right now he's the LW for the O'Reilly-Okposo tandem, and it's very similar to the role he became an analytics darling in with Eberle/RNH.

Cheap 1 year deal at a position we need help at. If he makes us better, great. If he's no good, it's not a big deal.

I'm excited to see who Pouliot and Pominville start with and even more excited that they won't be moved around to play with everyone within the first two periods.

And, FTR, these aren't cherry-picked. These were far and away his three most common linemates.

Mentioned it in the other thread, but I'm a big fan of this. Best case scenario, you have yourself a third-line LW replacement for Foligno at less than half the cost (swapping toughness for good advanced stats). Worst case scenario, he sucks so bad you waive him, get him down to help Rochester, and his cap hit is virtually gone in the process. No negative here. And yet people on Twitter still find a way to complain...

Seems weird how many different teams he has played on. Wonder what the deal is.

I could see him with Eichel
I'm not a big fan of the idea of Eichel with any of our low IQ or slow wingers until he proves himself at ES, but that's also gonna be super dependent on what type of scheme we're using.

If Housley lets both Pouliot/Kane and Eichel leak out of the play to create odd man-situations alongside a defensive specialist, that could be really fun.

Pouliot's skating? Above average, average, below average?
