You're going to pay 5mil for a player to sit on the 3rd pair and do f*** all?
Ya, I'm with duffman. I don't "hate" a lot. I don't like spending my time and energy pointing out something negative. There's not many players from the Leaf's history that I "hated". Heck, I still don't hate the trade that brought him here.
But I hated Barrie by the end here. He was noticeable in a good way only a handful of times all season. I remember him looking like he cared when Keefe first arrived, for like 3 or 4 games. The rest was either invisible, notably bad, or just taking a space away from someone who would have done better. Like PP time from Morgan, or playing time from Sandin/Lil.
Barrie was the prime example of a player who "doesn't fit" with a team. He never clicked with a partner, which was one of the things I remember hearing from Colorado that he was good at. He supposedly made his partners look good in his time there. But here he was a drain on everyone he played with. He made them work while he drifted aimlessly, and tossed the puck with no purpose.
Never seen a "skilled puck mover" who couldn't get it out of his own end. He's a PP specialist, and should end up with a career like Marc-Andre Bergeron. A complete waste of a roster spot here.
Goodbye, farewell and amen.
