Buffalo tank job looks like it's all but complete, almost guaranteed to land at least Eichel at this point barring a disastrous winning streak by the Sabres. Edmonton's looking fairly safe in their second worst record in the league position, but hopefully a team like the Canes or Devils or Jackets win the lottery and knock 'em out of the McDavid/Eichel contention entirely. The Leafs freefall continues unabatted, and just about everyone on their roster is a rumored trade target (although almost all of them have laughably high return value expectations according to Leafs fans and management (allegedly)).
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Preds now have a 5 point lead on the Ducks for the league's best record, while the Habs have a single point lead on the Isles (although they have a game in hand there) for home ice in the East.
Kings're also pushing hard for a playoff spot. They're two behind Calgary and Vancouver, and three behind San Jose for the last WC slot/2nd & 3rd seeds in the Pacific, with games in hand against all of them except Vancouver. They're not dead yet.
The revitalized Wild are likewise only two points behind Calgary for the final Wild Card slot, but unlike the Kings they're not realistically in a divisional race as well, so there's likely only one potential landing spot for them versus three for the Kings.
Winnipeg won against Detroit to get back within four points of us for the 3rd seed in the Central, but we've got two games in hand against them.
