Spezza is a legit top center Chicago doesn't need that so that news doesn't surprise me. Teams that need spezza are nyr and stlouis

If Burke was the GM he would not be looking for a place to make Spezza happy.
The convo would go like this,
"I would like a trade." - Spezza
"Ok, I will call your agent when you are dealt." - Burke
"I would like to go to STL or Chicago." - Spezza
"Give me your 'C' I will tell you when you are traded." - Burke
*Burke picks up the phone* "Hey Snow, want Spezza?" *Looks at Spezza* "You can leave now, I will call your agent when the deal is complete."

I'd be esctatic if this was the return.
Heck, Boedker+Stone/Gormley and I call it a day. Boedker faces toughest competition, plays all zones, can score 20-50 points, only 24 and gritty. He'd be perfect with Zibanejad.
Me too. I wish Stastny goes to NYR/COL/CHI and Spezza to DAL/COL/NSH/PHX and STL gets nothing.
Or we fleece STL. I wish.

Stastny can't possibly be holding up a Spezza deal. No one can really sign him until July 1 so how would they know that he hasn't already secretly agreed to go elsewhere.
A team seriously interested in Spezza but using Stastny as an excuse isn't likely to deal for Spezza until July 1 which would also let them evaluate the cost of a possible trade and re-sign. Those teams likely wouldn't give up their 1st tonight.

Agreed. He was also amazing at bullying other GM's to give him what he wants. We would have gotten a fortune for Spezza. I still believe in Murray though. He's mad some terrific trades of late.
