One of the reasons I like Burke is he just did ****.
He didn't care if you liked it or not.

If Burke was the GM he would not be looking for a place to make Spezza happy.

The convo would go like this,
"I would like a trade." - Spezza
"Ok, I will call your agent when you are dealt." - Burke
"I would like to go to STL or Chicago." - Spezza
"Give me your 'C' I will tell you when you are traded." - Burke

*Burke picks up the phone* "Hey Snow, want Spezza?" *Looks at Spezza* "You can leave now, I will call your agent when the deal is complete."

There are numerous examples of Burke doing things for the players though.

For example, waived Bryzgalov just to give him a chance to be starter, puts in a trade freeze prior to the CBA required one at Xmas, and I seem to recall there being other examples as well. He goes to bat for his team, generally speaking. It's one of the few things I really like about him.

fair enough, though I imagine Bryz likely asked for more playing time and made it know that if that wasn't available he'd prefer to be moved.

So the floor is 51 and ceiling is 69? Thts 18 million dollars some teams have on us. Thats like 1 top 4 dman, 1 top 6 winger and you still have space

I'm so torn. I don't know if I prefer Stastny to sign in COL or elsewhere.

Colorado may end up giving us the best offer but at the same time, STL may offer huge deal if Stastny is gone.
