To be fair the group that got tossed over it were near where I sit in 314 most of the time, and the Canes have seemingly banned them from the arena since I haven't seen them since. The entire group were supreme choads that were basically asking to have their asses kicked for a while.

@tarheelhockey and gp were near me at the game that all went down.

They paid playoff prices and didn’t even get to see puck drop. Over trying to steal extras of the stupid little towels. They’re a nice takeaway but at the end of the day, it’s a damn rag that a lot of people will just give you for free.

Possibly the dumbest thing I’ve seen in my >decade in that section.

Bunch of dumb amateurs: As all members of Section One (the name of a group of NY Metro area sports lunatics I am a part of) know the trick to getting extra towels is to walk around after the game and pick up as many that were just left on the ground as you want.

Attended Guardians - Tigers in Detroit last night because as a Guards fan I wanted to see Francona manage live one more time. Cabrera went 3 for 4 in his 3rd to last game. Really amazing the energy that knowing he's retiring brought to the crowd there.

Anyone who gets a chance to check out Comerica Park, I highly recommend it. Nice stadium.

I would be excited to see Cabrera retire if i were a Tigers fan too. The dude has lived in the clubhouse with the free food for the last 3 seasons and just mailed it in. He was so good for so long then he stopped caring.

I never have been but I have family in Ann Arbor who go once or twice in the summer. They love it.

I never went but I was told of all the shitty cookie-cutter 70s stadiums, the Vet in Philadelphia was the worst.

even as a Pirates fan I've always had a soft spot for the Os, it's fun to see what they're doing while my guys are in the middle of yet another rebuild.

I wish baseball would guarantee division winners a playoff spot but not guarantee them a 1-3 position. Its pretty dumb that Tampa doesn’t get a bye and Minnesota has a better playoff position than any other team in the west.

So I’m just remembering all things Wake right now and I’m recalling the experiment making him a closer. He 100% would’ve been the best bullpen arm of all time (because he could go every day, if an every day catcher could actually catch him). I recall a game he came in to close where he blew the save and had 4 Ks in the inning with several passed balls.

That was Jim Bouton's argument in Ball Four. Basically, "I need to pitch more for the knuckler to be sharp, and my arm never gets tired." No coach ever bought it, though.

that would have been fascinating if Tec could catch Wake at all. And the crazy thing is Tec was an extremely good defensive catcher in his own right, but the guy just could never catch Wake or any knuckleballer for that matter.
