Robb do you have that season package and watching Wolves games?

Btw where I can buy that package?

No Ranksu, I don't have a package. I watch mainly just game highlights. Once in a while, I used to watch a single game, here or there. But this season I've only watched game highlights after the game. But you have been given a link to the web page where you can buy them, in the post above.

I've always said Husso's name as "Vee-lay," but apparently it's pronounced more like "Willy." Idk why that makes me happy but it does. Feel free to do with that information what you will

Sorry if this is old news, but this seems to me like Vegas won't be using the Wolves like rumored.

The Golden Knights plan to announce their American Hockey League affiliate next month.

"We're in a good place with our [AHL] club," McPhee said. "We're going to a market with a good hockey history and a team which has been winning. We'll have full authority over all hockey matters. We'll supply the coaches and many of the players. It's all about development and winning."

Just finished watching the Wolves game against the Checkers, a 3-1 win. I've watched the last few games and thought I'd share my thoughts on a few players.

Firstly, Dunn. Every time I watch him I can't help but get excited. His play with the puck really reminds me of Duncan Kieth. He has a high hockey IQ and is a strong stickhandler, but also knows when to make the simple play. Both his wrist shot and slap shot are a consistent threat (although he seems to favor the wrister). He's great at doing fake shots and dekes to create room for himself and open up shooting lanes. Consistently makes smart and creative plays in all three zones. Good outlet passes, always keeps his head up and looking for a stretch pass to spring a rush the other way. Doesn't hesitate to join the rush.

I think his ceiling is higher than most on these boards realize. I see a lot of people saying #3-4D PP specialist, which just doesn't give him enough credit for his 5 on 5 play. I don't want to over hype him too much, but I can easily see him playing a more important role than that.

Next, Thompson. He has some great tools. Really hard shot, of which I'm sure most people are already aware. He's also a good stickhandler and protects the puck well with his big body. Also doesn't shy away from going to the dirty areas and engaging in board battles and pressing on the forecheck. From my 3 or 4 viewings, he's played better than his point total would suggest (1 point in 8 games). However, he's still pretty raw. He makes poor decisions with the puck sometimes, which is to be expected for a guy just out of college playing pro for the first time. He has a tendency to over-stickhandle and try to do to much. While I'm sure this worked for him often in college, he won't get away with is much in the AHL, and definitely not in the NHL. I'm hoping it's just a habit from college that will improve with experience and coaching.

Husso played a good game, stopping 29 of 30. Overall, just a very solid goalie. He plays a positional game and reads the play well. Good at fighting through traffic to see the puck. He'll be ready for back-up duty in the NHL soon. He's passed Binnington on the depth chart in my eyes.

Blais continues to play well. He had a great goal in the game today, beat his man 1-on-1 off the rush then roofed a shot glove side with little room to shoot at. Very impressive. He looks to be developing into a solid depth player for the Blues. He plays a really smart and skilled game, which would really fit a 3rd line role well. Always seems to play the right play. He's just a very smart and well-rounded player. He looks like a steal for a 6th round pick.

Agostino was pretty quiet today, Rattie played a good game (he looked faster than I ever remember seeing).

Blais is a player who at one point I feel like plenty of people brushed him off a bit. This has 100% been his coming out party.

Dang, thanks for the great write-up! Very excited to hear about Dunn, and encouraged to hear that despite the points coming slow, Thompson is looking good. If he follows the Barbashev path, we'll be in very very good shape. Patience is key with him. As for Blais, I think he's going to be an AHL mainstay for the most part, with the privilege of being the first injury call-up, sort of our own homegrown Agostino/Agozzino. It will be hard for him to crack the lineup in his position, but maybe he makes it impossible to keep him down over guys like Sanford/Jaskin/whoever. Who knows!

So Husso would be first one in call-up if Allen/Hutton get injured?

At this point, I'm like 98% sure it would be Binnington. I don't think they would throw Husso up to the big club even if it was to sit on the bench and watch. Only way I could see it being Husso is if the injury is minor and they need a back-up for one game and want to just show him what being up with the big club was like. If it was anything more than that, they'd more than likely prefer he stay in Chicago and continue getting starts.

Rather it be Bin. Husso is still young, I'd much rather have him playing in the AHL, than pull him up too soon and kill his confidence.

This. No reason to rush Husso. Main reason why I hope the Blues re-sign Binnington this summer. He can be the emergency call up while Husso gets the bulk of the American League starts. Now the following year when Hutton is gone...then we can talk about Husso playing with the main club.

With Walman now coming to Chicago, what do ya think the pairings will look like?

Dunn-Wisniewski
Butler-Ellis
Walman-Lindbohm

?

Still have to remember that Schmaltz might not be with the Blues the entirety of next season. It's likely but not a sure thing. Though Wis is up in the air too, he's on a AHL only deal. Who knows where he lands next season.

Is Tansey still with the Wolves? Maybe McNeill and Nightingale too. Lots of d-men on that roster.

Hopefully Walman forces his way into the lineup though.

He is for now, although he didn't get into a game last week. Not sure if there was an injury there, or what. I'm sure the Mavs wouldn't mind having their #1 defenseman back either way. McNeill is on the roster no matter what happens, but Nightingale could conceivably be sent back down to Toledo.
