For Long Island people, Twin Rinks at Eisenhower Park is absolutely gorgeous. I take my lessons there. Stick and puck on Friday and Saturday mornings. Not sure what their pick up game scene is like.

Superior ice rink in kings park. We always have 2 or 3 goalies. Turn outs have been great up until the last few weeks. Come down and beat the heat and play some ice hockey. $20 from 1130-130am. 16 years old and up. Helmet with visor or cage required. Plenty of range on the skill that plays, so no worries if you aren't great at ice hockey.
