Yep JT looks off. His body language on and off the ice. Losing puck battles giving up on plays etc.

Weight is slowly souring on me.

Ho sang is high risk high reward; as he was when he was drafted.

Barzal deserves the goal; such an entertaining player to watch.

I see Pulock is carving out a PP specialist niche. Fabulous.

Beau has got to be in.

Not comfortable w either goalie but greiss stole a game.

The d is a turnover waiting to happen.

And Nelson looks good; decisive and proactive.

Ladd is ripping this franchise off every shift.

John Tavares does not sound like he's happy after listening to that post game interview
I really think JT is just wanting out and he is not sure how to say it, who knows maybe he is not giving his all because it is easier to trade him at the deadline if the Isles are out of any playoff contention, or who knows maybe he is bummed about the lack of points this year

on a side note, I was at the game and I had no idea he scored in the SO until the Isles began celebrating on the Ice, it seemed he hit the top of the post and I am pretty sure on the Jumbotron at MSG they put an X next to him indicating he missed it

Never been less excited about a win over the rangers. Should've been a 5-1 win. Instead Isles get dominated (again) during crunch time.

Barzal was best player on the ice for both teams and I don't even know who was #2.

The 3 teams the Isles beat are going to be amongst the worst in the league this year. When a team plays well you can tell and we know they're not.

Holy hell... the ice at MSG sucks. Maybe the Rangers should play at Barclays when/if the Isles go to Belmont.

Seemed that every time Josh Ho-Sang went up the ice into the Rangers zone... Rangers went back the other way with speed and for great chances.

There's an amazing retort to post here that I'm not coming up with, but let's just say you might be falsely blaming the ice to protect the player.

As long as your "fabulous" was sarcastic, then I agree with this entire post. 100% spitting truths you are. Praise.

100% this. I was there too, it was deemed not a goal and everyone was confused. Halak made the next save to seal it and everyone still didn't realize it was over

This team is turning into the Mighty Ducks. Ho Sang is that guy that can skate around but always falls down. Pulock is that other guy that can smash glass with his shot, but can't hardly stand on his skates.

That is funny and true, it is like a team out of Major League even, Bailey the guy who can't score, Barzal the guy who can't pass, JT is like Corbin Bernsen not interested any more....

Not very happy with this game even though we got 2 points, you have to bury a team in regulation when they are down like the Rangers. I am going to say it now, this is the worst coached Isles team of all time, with the sloppiest play, even Scott Gordon's team of misfits didn't turn the puck over this much.

This team needed to hire an old taskmaster, like in a normal world at 33 games in, Darryl Sutter is hired to save the day, this team needs to be kicked hard in practice.

I fear the NHL is going to go in a direction where you can suit up 2 or 3 more players, so you have a PP specialist like Pulock and have a shootout specialist etc.... I can see that developing now, every other sport has moved against conventions over time, NHL doesn't thankfully.

Barzal is an exciting player, I fear he will end up like Comeau if he is not coached properly, he has to pass the puck.

JT is not happy, he was unhappy when he scored his shootout goal. He looked terrible all night, seems like he was easily contained by Shattenkirk. I think he hates the individual play on this team, there are way too many selfish hockey players on this team, Eberle, Ladd, JHS and Barzal to name a few, and this coach is letting them do what they want. I think his frustration is obvious, he did look good on the one shift with Bailey. JT will probably pull a Grabo and demand that whoever signs him takes Bailey.

Halak is now a backup goalie, he gives up rebounds, and leaves holes open, not a #1 guy.

Our D was dangerous all night in that they coughed up the puck record amount of time

We can't wait for Ladd to wake up at game #41, I am not a Kulemin fan but he is a stability player and we need some of that on ice, we have an all for one team now

Just create chances. He has the hands and the ability but never utilizes those skills.

he plays a very castrated game, just got off the phone with my client who is a huge Ducks fan and he still talks about Bailey's goal from last year... he barely sees Bailey play so he thinks Bailey is more skilled because of that one goal, which he almost pulled off today.

In Isles land Bailey has to be a stabilizer with the careless level of play this team is playing at

Nah... you're misinterpreting my post. That shouldn't be seen as me blaming Ho-Sang's game on the quality of ice. Rather each paragraph was a discrete point to a quick synopsis of the game. That should've read as:

1) Ice was bad... as comically bad or worse than Barclays

2) Ho-Sang seemed (directly or indirectly) to lead to a lot of quality rushes against. That could be said about the whole team, but many of his stood out in comparison.

3) Isles have a lot of growing to do, but at least they have room to get better. Right now, It seems more a lack of good decision decision making and/or experience rather than ability.

I don't think Eberle should be driving the 1st line...

That being said, JT has been pretty selfish himself. I know many give him a pass because he is a superstar but he has taken a fairly individualistic approach for a while now. This season in particular, he is shooting into traffic more and not utilizing his line mates the way he did when he had Okposo.

Just my observation, but he tries to rely on his stick handling more and more in 1 on 1 scenarios when I recall him surveying his surroundings and making more creative passes in past seasons. Barzal is making some highlight reel passes but guys are not finishing. In fact, I know I'll get chastised for saying this but Barzal has distributed the puck better then JT has this season.

Capuano would shed a proud tear if he watched that beautiful defensive shell in the third. Happy with the points.

Ice sucked, fans and players have to commute.

Most overrated place ever, arena sucks balls. Didn’t even know JT scored..

Two points was good, another day another win over the Rags.

For a team that's supposed to take these rivalry games as seriously as the other team takes a Cup run, they sure didn't play like it last night. I don't know how anyone can be happy with last night, win over the Rangers or not. Seems like a total continuation of the Cappy coached team from last year. 3rd period meltdown, ineffective defensive shell, a completely impotent PP despite finally netting one, and young players getting benched for extended periods for mistakes. I'm all for having them miss a shift or two, but Ho Sang didn't play for the entire 3rd period. When you're already short a forward because it was so important to dress 7 D, this seems even more ridiculous.

I guess they can take the two points and try to build towards playing a more complete game going forward, but I don't that happening. To me, this feels like a repeat of last year. Yes, they're off to a slightly better start to the season, but I don't think that's indicative of any significant progress. The only thing I think that will work to their advantage is that they're home for most of the 2nd half. They might of made the playoffs last year if they weren't away so much late in the season.

There was good and bad in this game, but the part that annoyed me was watching Weight smile at some point...
This should have been a time to show anger, let the players know this shit is unacceptable...

A timeout would have been nice...

How come Lee wasn't benched for his lazy play in his own zone, which the Rangers capitalized on making in 3-2? Weight is quickly turning into Fred #2 with his ridiculous line-up and the sitting of AB.

Well... I'll happily take the points, but those last 20 minutes were awful. Like some people said before, I'm sure Capuano would be very proud.

Maybe this Tavares situation might work our way... If he really wants to leave, it would be an easy trade? If he wants to stay, and we all hope so, maybe we can save some cap on his new contract (even if it's 500k/1M)? Not sure what to think about it...
