Poirier and Klimchuk to compliment both lines too! ^^

Baertschi - Bennett - Poirier
Gaudreau - Monahan - Klimchuk

v/s

Eberle - RNH - Hall
Perron - Draisaitl - Yakupov

What a matchup that's going to be!

Would rather put Gaudreau on the first line over Sven, ideally we could put Sven on RW on a first line because he's far more skilled than Poirier or Klimchuk, even though that would make our top line pretty small.

Gaudreau - Bennett - Baertschi
Klimchuk - Monahan - Poirier

I just don't think Poirier is top line material... I think he'll end up being a pretty average second-liner.

We should split up Klimchuk and Poirier and Gaudreau and Baertschi because they are both similar types of players.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Poirier

Jankowski-Knight-Ferland/Bouma

Love that we got him. Any word on how his faceoff skills are?

Pretty sure that's said to be a spot he's working on; if I remember doing my homework he isn't a specialist by all means, but no slouch either (middle road). I mean, I wouldn't worry... Not many 18/19 year old's can come into the NHL and be a Bergeron type faceoff guy.

If he hangs in the NHL next season, even for 9 games, I'd love to see him on the wing instead of center to start. He can transition to center in a couple year when we shed one of Backlund or Stajan... for now he should be a winger.

Also guys, we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves if we think Calgary's top two lines will feature 6 picks of ours. Even the best of teams get their FA's and traded players to fill in their top 6.

That being said, the forward depth in Calgary is getting incredible.

Pretty sure Bennett is only about 7lbs away from Monahan's weight in the NHL, doesn't necessarily mean he'll need a full junior year of development.

It doesn't hurt Bennett to destroy junior one year before marking the jump.

Honestly, I'd prefer it.

Not worried about how he is in the NHl faceoffs wise yet, but how he is against his peers is a decent way to judge his skill.

Pisses me off how Oiler fans feel the need to feel better about their toe draggers by comparing them to younger, less developed players.

Somehow ever player on Edmonton's roster is 10x better than ours, yet we were 100x more competitive this season than them.

Logic?

They've drafted top 7 the last five years and top 3 four times in those years. I guess they need something to be proud about.

They have an inferiority complex, its pretty obvious. No one here has had a single negative thing to say about Draisaitl.

We got our big center last year, and now Edmonton has theirs. They already had a skilled guy in RNH and now we have ours. Great picks all around.

Excited that we got exactly who I wanted. Was never sold on Draisaitl and I knew we wouldn't get the opportunity to pick Reinhart or Ekblad.
