No, it was a normal start time. It was Friday 7:30. It's just that the Anaheim-Nashville game didn't end until like 10 PM Wednesday and they couldn't start selling tickets prior to that since they didn't know if their first home game was going to be in two days or the following Tuesday or Wednesday. It's a short turnaround time to have a bunch of fans plan for such a thing on a weeknight even Fridays.

Since when has something like this ever stopped them from selling tickets early? The first round of the playoffs already went on sale for this year and we could be the home team or the away team in round 1.

It's never stopped them from selling tickets early but they don't sell out tickets by taking early deposits or doing what they do now. But they don't sell tickets for a specific game at a specific time until they get the schedule from the league.

But when it comes to that particular night, even with the amount of tickets sold at a price point that was discussed as overpriced, they sold 500 less than their sellout. They probably had more not in those seats for the game which is likely due to the short turnaround for fans

Think Joe was just showing some gamesmanship. Hopefully they rest him until Wed/Thu. Home ice isn't worth losing either him or Couture.
