that pass he made at 4:30 was ridiculous.

Yea, a bit more consistent in his play, probably goes in the first round.

Like the pick reading more about him and seeing some of his skills on display.

Was 4:30 the backhand behind the back blind pass to the front of the net? No one on the ice even saw that pass except for the guy who scored.

Whay happened to getting D?
Expected to see that Shero traded our third to move up and take Timmins Hague etc
Would have preferred this imo

Again....I worry with the possibility of having another tedenby/yayo selection here....

...then I remember that we have Ray/Castron and not Lou/Conte doing the drafting of offensive players and I'm like...."I'm okay with this". :D

^ if he's the BOPA(best offensive player available), then I agree, Afro.

You look for 'D' and diamonds in the rough in the later rounds.

You have to take BPA when it's still this early. Boqvist is a 1st round talent.

Yea, there were some rankings and a number of scouts that had him going in the 1st round. We had a jersey ready to go for the guy, so I have to assume our scouting staff was after him.

You have to take BPA when it's still this early. Boqvist is a 1st round talent.

"Lightweight, elusivr Swedish winger with great hands and feet. A change-of-pace skater with great balance and ability to change directions. There is a need for him to get stronger and thicker so he doesn’t get knocked off the puck in skirmishes. Displays a high work ethic and the ability to score in so many different ways; he can score with his one-timer in the circles, use his hand-eye coordination and deflect/tip shots, snatching rebounds in front or off the rush."

Sounds too similar to someone we already had on this team.
Timmins was also a late 1st round talent

Not a fan of this pick. I wish we traded up to get Nic Hague. And what matters worse my next best option for this round would of been Isaac Ratcliffe and friggin Philly traded up and got him one spot before our pick. So frustrating.

He is a boom or bust player, but he has tons of talent, great skater and a great playmaker, reminds very much in playstyle of W Nylander. I like him very much, but he maybe will have problem with the more physical play in NHL. So there is issues, but this isnt 1OA pick.

A good risk vs reward player.

He's not similar to Tedenby/Josefson. :sarcasm:

Hmmm.... I'm more a fan of high-risk picks in the 3rd round, but hopefully this roll-of-the-dice pans out.

I immediately thought of teneboo. This guy is taller at least.

I also wonder how teneboo would do in the NHL now. With the emphasis on speed. Probably still not much

This kid knows how to finish.

The last goal shows a Nico cameo.

...and that highlight package is from last year when he was 17. Haven't been able to find a highlight package from his draft year, and I suspect that splitting time almost evenly between 3 teams has something to do with that.

Boqvist has first round talent, the kid can flat out play. I think he has a greater chance (trying not to be a homer but much greater IMO) of being a boom rather than a bust. Time will tell but I love this pick.

I was about to say this is probably my favourite pick but they knocked this draft out of the park. Really excited right now.
