Butcher had a great goal, definitely got our momentum back. Yelled like hell when he came in with speed and scored that PP goal.

But Butcher also almost blew it with a really really really really bad turnover

And that was after a couple of us were talking about how great his defense looks haha.

It's almost like the death knell for that player for me to say ''YEAH! KINKAID IS HAVING A MONSTER GAME!'' or ''BUTCHER'S D PLAY IS GREAT!'' like before a game ends haha. It's like the DD ''(insert random young goalie) is very good and will be a steal'' jinx.

Can't believe that was only his third goal. I think he has like 32 assists though?

I was always under the impression it was possible to go offsides on yourself. (a) and also Note 2 seems to imply that. Unless there is a different interpretation of the rule somewhere.

Rule 72. Off-sides
(a) Players of the attacking team must not precede the
puck into the attacking zone.
Note 1: If a pass deflects off a defending player, his
skates or his stick, causing an attacking player to precede
the puck into the attacking zone, the off-side rule
shall apply.

But to Butchers relief, he wasn't the only d man making some really bad decisions tonight (Severson), or making super unclutch plays (Lovejoy)

In my opinion, i didn't think LJ was that bad, EXCEPT for that play that lead to the goal.......... he was sound-ish (again, IMO....) before that unclutchness.

Severson's decision to blind pass it back to a Pengjuin when he had about 15 feet of space to work with and get a shot off was probably a worse decision because it led to a ridiculous 3 v 1 or 2v1 situation that i am totally shocked we survived. If it wasn't for KK tonight this game would have been lost like 5 or 6 to 3.

Seriously, considering he gave up 3 goals, this was one of his most clutch performances in CRITICAL GAME TIME situations.

Bratt DOES look like he may be overthinking things out there instead of just making the 1st decision and going with it and DAMN the consequences.

If his first thought is to shoot the puck, then he should shoot the puck.

If it's to pass, then DON'T DELAY in making the pass.

Moore was on for a couple shifts again, so was Severson. Severson made a couple dumb plays, fortunately not leading to a goal. That Butcher turnover was luckily a fairly harmless shot from a pretty saveable area.

I'm trying to think of what happened when Keith made that HUGE save later in regulation? It was an odd man rush, someone lost the puck either in the neutral zone or back in our end. Was that Severson? Maybe it was a forward.

Keith bailed the f*** out of that Moore-Severson pair at the end of regulation.

This is one game that's proof that a goalie can win you a game when the defense is really bad, because it was really bad tonight. It's kind of understandable because of who the opponent was, but it was still really bad. The goalie keeping it to 3 goals against in that game is having a pretty good game.

I'm not worried about him longterm or anything like that, but I think the fatigue is real. He has not played well at all the past few games. He had a bunch of really bad turnovers tonight.

Palmieri was caught covering for a forward at the blue line on that 3-on-1 and played it way too risky.

The only thing where people went overboard with Bratt was saying he was or would be better then Nico.

Love Bratt but Nico is on another level.

Nico, Kink, Hall would be my three stars in that order.

Yeah Hall got the goal, but that play was all Nico.
