I'm not worried about him longterm or anything like that, but I think the fatigue is real. He has not played well at all the past few games. He had a bunch of really bad turnovers tonight.

You think it's not just him overthinking things on the ice rather than fatigue? He has been getting some rest here and there.

I definitely agree on all this. I don't think any defenseman on this team can say they had a good game tonight, I think Butcher and Vatanen were probably like the least bad? Moore was on for a couple shifts again, so was Severson. Severson made a couple dumb plays, fortunately not leading to a goal. That Butcher turnover was luckily a fairly harmless shot from a pretty saveable area.

I'm trying to think of what happened when Keith made that HUGE save later in regulation? It was an odd man rush, someone lost the puck either in the neutral zone or back in our end. Was that Severson? Maybe it was a forward.

Keith bailed the **** out of that Moore-Severson pair at the end of regulation.

This is one game that's proof that a goalie can win you a game when the defense is really bad, because it was really bad tonight. It's kind of understandable because of who the opponent was, but it was still really bad. The goalie keeping it to 3 goals against in that game is having a pretty good game.

yeah but people will look at this stat line 3 months from now and say that it is a 3GA game and the devils offense bailed him out. nature of compiled/out of context stats.

And it's all thanks to me. (I'm so humble)
It's really like the turnaround started after your tweet.

I mean, he had some good games before that, but he had a lot of clunkers too. I really thought he was playing his way out of the league before that. Remember my pompous ''Hear me now, believe me later'' in regards to him not being in the league in a year or two?

I think this year is buying him two more years than he would have otherwise had, whether that's 3-4 more years in the league or 6-7 more years in the league, especially if we make the playoffs with him riding this streak.

I agree with that, Moore was also up and down, i sort of forget about him today.

To the part I made bold, there were two i remember:

1) The Severson decision in OZone to pass to Penguin blindly, when he had all the space in world to shoot it. And play rushed other way.
2) Palms decided to try to play the body along the boards/blueline/neutralzone as a weak attempt to slow the play down, failed, and ALSO didn't skate with the player/puck, and the Penguin just bum rushed through and Palms was like 5 steps behind the play because he didn't skate with the play.

Those two plays i was almost sure Pitts was going to score on.. Thanks to KK we won!!

Holy f***ing shit what a game, I can't believe I didn't have a heart attack during this game.

Just give the Hall the Hart trophy, it's his. We don't even sniff the playoffs without him.

Kinkaid was f***ing fantastic again. Play him tomorrow too.

LETS GO DEVILS!!! WOOOOOOO

Not in this one.

This is a game where us allowing only 3 goals really flatters the team performance. It also discredits his personal performance.

There was a ton of shots, a lot of were high-danger shots (in my personal opinion), 45 shots from the Pens is like 50 shots from an average team and probably 55 shots from a lousy team.

Alright, now I remember! The one I was talking about was the Palmieri one!

The Severson one happened a little earlier in the 3rd. I think it was still more than halfway through, but the closing minutes like that Palmieri one!

Palmieri was caught covering for a forward at the blue line on that 3-on-1 and played it way too risky.
That was it! It created a really dangerous opportunity that could have ended the game in regulation.

Zacha is insanely good at winning puck battles down low and getting the puck out of the zone quickly.

Would love to see him with Johansson when he returns. Johansson skating the puck up the ice is exactly what Zacha needs.

The reality is that, this season, I am no longer surprised when we beat great teams and am I not surprised when we lose to bad teams. Crazy season and it seems like our youth has to be a big reason for it.

If it continues like this, Devils might win against Tampa tomorrow.

It's the rest of the season that is the big question considering that they're going to be facing more of the "cream of the crap".

The only thing where people went overboard with Bratt was saying he was or would be better then Nico.

Love Bratt but Nico is on another level.

Nico, Kink, Hall would be my three stars in that order.

Yeah Hall got the goal, but that play was all Nico.
I thought that was a stoppable goal on Murray, so I think it's definitely fair to say Nico was the main guy on that play and had the more memorable role in that play. Valiquette said some interesting last night and I know we all hate him and I can't stand him either, but I think it's because we see eye to eye on goalies, that I do take what he says about goalies seriously. Except for when he tries to rationalize why Hank or a Rangers goalie was beaten on something that he wouldn't have tried to rationalize if it had beaten Petr Mrazek or Jake Allen. But he said that when a goal that's stoppable on the goalie is scored, it can make the assist look a lot prettier and that the guy who assisted might have the prettiest part in the play and I think that's what happened with Nico.

I remember Greene scored a nasty, disgusting, ugly goal on Holtby earlier this year in the game we beat them and Hall had the secondary assist on it, but it was probably the nicest secondary assist all year from anybody on the team, yet it would have went way overlooked and nobody would have remembered it if Greene hadn't scored a really gross goal on Holtby.

It is quite baffling, but its good, because we can play with the best of them at the end of the day, just need to make the big dance.

If you remember the last game vs. Pittsburgh, we TOTALLY dominated the crosby line and they looked mostly listless in the previous game as a team. Somehow we escaped this one, and if it weren't for giving up those goals in 3rd, it would have been another game in the bag....

Hope we keep it this way.

Our speed makes it really hard for teams to keep up. We are a pain to play against since every line has some speed (except Maroon and Boyle)

We built the team in the model of Pittsburgh so it’s funny how the team that can beat them is a model of themselves.
