Im not gonna get wrapped up too much in these picks at this point. These guys have been passed up by every team several times at this point.
True but often I feel like the most obvious picks are the best ones especially in lower rounds. Scouts tend to "big-brain" and over-analyze their picks.

Dating back to 2010 we have about a 41% hit rate on guys turning into NHL'ers from the top 3 rounds. If we do the 4th round alone back to 2009 we are at 35% for NHL'ers.

All that so say, this class is big enough that based purely on mathematical average, we should have 4-5 NHL'ers out of the group through the 4th.

The hit rate for 5th or later is as bleak as you'd guess. We've only hit on Bitteto and Juuso in the last decade with a big 0/6 draft in 2013. Hit rate is under 9% for 5th or later for our drafts back to 09'.

Even if the Preds traded all their left over picks, the still have drafted a whole class already!!!!!!!!!
I just don't see the value in punting them off to a different draft year. Even if you project out that you have your minor league roster filled up, you can focus instead on picking guys in the USHL who are going off for 4 years of college, or you can pick a Russian whose rights you hold forever. A logjam needn't be created.

So was that Tampa own pick we traded back to them for a 4th next year? Basically gambling that they will suck more next year?

Near where sand and waves meet.
Muzzati is big, but, I’m not seeing a lot of output in his stat lines. We’ll find out over the next few months what the scouts saw in him.

A 7th next year for the rights to talk to Perry is as low of a price that could actually be paid.

So we have obviously had several 4th rounders hit big (saros, arvy, smith) and some very late hits(Pekka, Parsinnen, Erat, Skrastins)

But have we ever had a 5th or 6th round pick amount to anything?

I was digging through earlier. Easily our worst rounds. Anthony Bitetto, Mike Santorelli, Cal O'Rielly were the only even remotely recent/decent guys in the 5/6.
