Just stifle teams with the best puck possession defense in the league, a killer 1/2/3 down the middle, and great goaltending. The wingers will suck and scoring will go down, but I think that’s a winning formula.

Yeah, based on the prospects in the system building around stifling defense and a high end top line/PP seems the way to go. We have many wing prospects who can fill roles, but few centers to build lines around. The focus needs to be on upgrading down the middle

That's unfortunate that they QO'd Lehkonen. At $2.4m he's much less attractive, especially as he'd now cost assets to acquire, rather just resign Jost.

The continual overrating of prospects…

Miller put up 72 points in 69 games in 19/20. He put up 46 in 53 last year. He’s 28, can play both centre and wing, and earns just 5.25 million for two more years.

What prospect on top of the cap dump do you think gets him?

I mean it'd take a 1st+something pretty nice to get JT Miller.

If your doing JTC+ it would definitely take Byram.

Which is a bizarre strategy. Wilson and the Caps are on a downward trajectory and he won’t be an issue in the short or long term.
