Anyone know why McGill vs UQTR was postponed?

York trying to say they only need 1 point to get in man are they gonna be disappointed if they only get 1 point

York's website said they need one point to qualify, because they own the tiebreaker over LU. However, the OUA tiebreaking procedures state that ROW is the first tiebreaker if the teams have an even number of games played, which should go to LU. Definitely something that should be clarified heading into the last weekend.

York not looking like they want to make playoffs down 7-1 after Guelph fighting tied 3-3 but still have a short bench 9 fwds 5 D

York women's team coach Dan Church ran the bench for the Lions in this one - the assistants were in Covid protocols, and their head coach Russ Herrington is in Beijing at the Paralympics, as part of Team Canada's coaching staff for the para hockey team.

York scores twice in the third and get 44 saves from Cole Ceci to beat Ryerson 3-2 and punch their ticket to the playoffs. With one afternoon tilt left (Windsor at Guelph), i think the final seeding in the OUA West is already set:

1. Windsor vs. 8. York
2. Ryerson vs. 7. Western
3. Toronto vs. 6. Waterloo
4. Laurier vs. 5 Brock

Ominous posting on Leaguestat this afternoon....looks like the Windsor/Guelph game was shut down after the first period. In these days, it's easy to assume it's Covid related, but who knows? Hope all are okay.

Schedule for first round of the playoffs is out, 7 of 8 games are on Weds, Mar 16 (only WAT at TOR is on Thursday, Mar 17).

The downfall of the single-elimination bracket is that most games will be scheduled for the same day, as the OUA mandated game days to ensure everyone is on the same or similar rest. Round 2 will be Saturday, March 19, Round 3 on Wednesday, March 23, and Queens cup on Sat, March 26. I believe the only deviations from that will be arena availability (in Rd 1, U of T women's hockey is hosting a playoff game on Wednesday).

Top seed in the west is out: York defeats Windsor 4-2. Top seed in the east is heading to OT: Queens allows a late game-tying goal, McGill and the Gaels knotted at 2-2.

Still one game left to play in round 1 (Waterloo at Toronto), but the OUA bracket is predictably busted with the single elimination playoff format. Still alive:

WEST
2. Ryerson vs. winner of WAT-TOR 3-6 game
5. Brock vs. 8. York

EAST
2. UQTR vs. 6. Ontario Tech
4. Nipissing vs. 8. McGill

Both women's top seeds (WAT and U of T) will also fail to make nationals - Waterloo lost in round 1, Toronto lost in round 2. The single elimination is so cruel!

They’re not re-seeding the teams?

Final game of round one is another upset: 6 seed Waterloo takes out #3 Toronto with a 4-1 victory.

Ryerson is the only higher seed to advance in the west; they'll host Waterloo in round 2.
