Is the equipment really that much different? How can he possibly lose that much time without any major errors?

LOL Koreans and Germans tie for Silver.

That's pretty amazing for Korea being as good as they were.

Split time again. Great for the Koreans. Not sure what happened to Lochner. I'm very happy about the German performance on the ice track.

Yes. For similar reasons why they spend millions-billions on car manufacturing they'll do at a lesser scale for bobsled. There are significant research grants provided in schools.

Was he just lucky in the 2-man then?

What is the actual science behind bobsled? What makes up a fast run vs. a slower run? Because it seems like steering and lines only accounts for like 30% of your actual time.

They've been practicing a lot on that track in the lead up to the games.

Wonder when we can expect to see a woman's 4 person event. As well as 2 woman's luge. Pretty much every event for men, you have a female one to match it.

Humphries has been fighting for a 4 man one for a while. i honestly don't know why there is not a 2 woman's luge or a 4 man bobsleigh.

There is no rule preventing women to participate. Women teams or even mixed teams could participate if they wanted to .;)

It is offically a doubles and no mens doubles.
