I want to see how the Knights do in the playoffs. Dunkley, Moskal and Foudy are 3 of their top 4 forwards (the other being Formenton). Regula and Bouchard are essentially their top 2. That is pretty much all of their good draft eligible prospects besides Kooy, who probably won't get much time as a backup but was the top rookie goalie so he should be fine.

If they do well, then that will go a long way for them. Could also be a chance for Popov to put himself into consideration among some teams.
Popov would be another players to take a flyer on in the 7th Rd.
The last 4 games
He is finally starting to show his speed, skill, skating and tenacity.
I think this kid is going to be good next yr.

How is it strong for the next 10 plus years? Theres really no C's in the pipeline that will be pushing for a spot.

If Nylander is playing C full time, and one of him, Kadri or Matthews go out for an extended period of time who is filling the hole?
Seriously?
Matthews 20 yrs old
Nylander 21 yrs old
Kadri 27, the old timer
Who has centre depth like that?
Even Pitts with Crosby/Malkin stumble after that.
Defense is what I worry about.

Draft has 2 main purposes:
Try for good core players that are fixtures of your lineup
Have a constant pipeline of high turnover support guys and waiver exempt depth.

Love this kids game
I would love that pickup, I’m also really hoping we get one of foudy or dunkley.

Most of the centres in this range are long shots but I like Hillis and Dudas (both could end up wingers). Struthers has been okay, he had 23 goals this year and 0 power play goals. There are some American C's but I haven't seen enough of any of them to comment.
Hillis has really impressed this season in the O

If we pass on Kravtsov I will legitimately be angry.

9 points in 8 playoff games, averaging just under 13 mins a game, with 26 (!!) shots on goal.

4 games is not enough really. He was supposed to be a top 5 OHL pick or something like that but dropped to the 2nd round. It wasn't a character issue but I think he just did not perform as well in the OHL cup or something. He has good skill, but 7th would be the earliest I'd take him, and even then there are going to be a pool of 25 other guys with the same sort of tag on them: Good skills, major potential, major long shot. It'll be up to the Leafs to determine which one is the best one, and I think what goes against him is that he is from the CHL. 2 years may not be enough time for him to strut his stuff and earn an ELC.

Could be interesting to watch on an AHL deal down the line, or as a camp invite, or maybe as an D+1 pick if he does well next year. Kind of like what Nyman could be this year.

Does anyone see any good centres in the 3rd-6th round where you think "total sleeper" ? When I ask this question I do imply you've had some viewings :)

Probably more of a middle six guy but I like the Russian, Ivan Morozov. He's got size (6'1), is a right shot, responsible defensively, and has some skill (point per game at both the WJAC and Five Nations).

No way he'll be available at our pick but maybe Denisenko drops.

Kaut is also pretty interesting. He has double Chytils production if I'm reading it right. Could be a really good winger available.
Chytil also missed this years draft by 11 days. Kaut is only 2 months younger than him.

You've completed missed my point... If one of them goes down, who covers for them?

Teams with great C depth have C's playing the wing. Look at SJ and Philly.

Currently, the leafs have no one to step into that position if one of them goes down. Sure when completely healthy the leafs have a great 1-3 C, but after that they have nothing.

You have seen what I have seen in these players.

That is my reasoning for trading back to grab a couple of 2nd Rd pks.

Foudy shows me something different every game.
You can't teach what he has speed.
His passing skills are really good.

Dunkley is what we need a center with skill.
56% FO%.

Moskal is very underrated.

They are all playing key roles .

Edit: it might be one of those rare times people aren't talking enough about Londons players

IMO Aaltonen has a chance at becoming a good 4th C that can survive filling in on the 3rd line. Marleau can always switch to C if we're talking about the next 2 seasons, and I'd like for Babs to get Hyman some chances at C since he was apparently good at it earlier in his career and would be a good shutdown C. But I would like to get a prospect that projects as a middle 6 C that can fill in from the wing and make keeping Kadri in the future not a necessity when his contract ends and hes asking for 7M

6'2 18-year-old putting up over PPG in the KHL Playoffs? This is the first I've heard of this kid, but I must say, that's real intriguing.

Guy was fantastic in a short time in the minors this year too. Similar numbers to Kuzy in his draft year, and the best ever 18-year old in the KHL playoffs.

Pissed he's done so well because now he's not even gonna make it to us.

Sounds like he could be an excellent consolation prize for a team like St. Louis - Just miss the Playoffs, but draft an excellent prospect. They're not afraid of the "Russian Factor" either, though I have no idea how large a role that even plays anymore in today's scouting.

Philly has the Blues 1st. I think they choose Kravstov.
