That mentality of trading back and taking third tier QBs is why the Browns never can find a good QB.

I wouldn't call Jackson or Mayfield third tier especially against the crop that's the first tier. It's more like 2a tier and 2b tier, neither are franchise guys, maybe Rosen if he puts in the effort, more like good to ok starters.

If you want your QB in the 1st you have to trade up.

In the Pro Football Weekly Draft Preview hub Arkush went full Cam newton on Josh Rosen. He's really turning into your drunk uncles Facebook rant and kids wearing hats indoors now.

Not that BPs are the sole measure of strength, but imagine a collegiate lineman on the cusp of being drafted into the NFL not being utterly embarrassed by those numbers. Plenty of average dudes at your local gym could approach 14 reps of 225.

And it's why the NFL combine matters. The 40 gets the hype but the agility/cod drills, the jumps and the 10 yard split are the most important for non QB/Specialist.

I kind of get the feeling Cleveland is going to go corner at 4.

I feel like it's going to be either Chubb or a trade down (They still might get Chubb even after trading down. There's going to be a run on QB's at the beginning of the draft and Cleveland can leverage that to get an extra pick or two. If you're the Jets at 6, I don't think you can feel too comfortable in expecting one of the top 4 QBs to be available by the time their pick comes up. Maybe they throw in a 3rd round pick to the Browns in order to move up and ensure they get one of them. Likewise with Denver at 5, just to block other teams from moving up to that spot.

Besides you don't draft a "slot" corner in the top 5. Minkah is more than that. He doesn't have the upside of Derwin James but his floor is higher.

I agree with you. I would take Minkah ahead of Derwin James but it wouldn’t surprise me if James goes ahead of Minkah.

James is more raw but his size and athleticism is tantalizing

Penny needs to show teams that he can pass protect, but give me Penny in the third over Barkley in the top 10.

Such a deep RB class this year
