No, I meant to say exact opposite. Goaltending is the only one area which looks very questionable on this team. And I used "but now they have 3 goalies..." because it means, it won't get any better.

Well it's good to know everyone knows our goaltending is the biggest question mark of the entire tournament except for Hockey Canada. It's embarrassing our starting goalie is the back-up and not even the "young, up-and-coming starter" back-up either.

This team is certainly enough talented to win even with this goaltending but it could be harder.

After all, 2015 team won with Smith as the top goalie (but I know 2015 was special team and definitely better than this one). It is disappoiting to see such a talented roster but 3 very mediocre or unexperienced goalies.

I would try out:

Ryan O'Reilly - Nathan MacKinnon - Wayne Simmonds
Jeff Skinner - Mark Scheifele - Mitch Marner
Matt Duchene - Claude Giroux - Brayden Schenn
Alex Killorn - Sean Couturier - Travis Konecny
Brayden Point

Marc-Edouard Vlasic - Tyson Barrie
Calvin De Haan - XXX
Michael Matheson - Jason Demers
Josh Morrissey

Chad Johnson
Calvin Pickard
Eric Comrie

Hopefully Canada can add another RHD to go onto the 2nd pair.

Jared Spurgeon is perfect fit for this place.

This version of team Canada can certainly win gold, but I hope not, getting boring with Canada winning all the time.

Its just the Worlds but still...

Winning all the time? it's just 2 years in a row and before the 2015 win everyone was taking their cracks at Canada(which is a hobby here for many) saying they had not won in ages and questioning why they couldn't win this tournament anymore.

At least here they were.

2 years in a row, you make it sound like it's the soviets in their halcyon olympic days.

We havent won everything this decade or anything like that, we've taken plenty of lumps.

Lol @ people getting mad at the people running the team.

So you honestly think they were like hmm we need a goalie.. Jones Crawford or Johnson.. let's go with Johnson.

No that didn't happen. 99% chance they declined and Johnson was their best bet.

Well then they should have been more persuasive. I'm not letting them off the hook on this one, and all we have heard is that Crawford hadn't even been asked.

These recent additions were a bit lackluster, but that's not shocking. Vlasic is certainly a welcome addition. I'm not disappointed with Schenn either, and Marner at least is a young guy that could help Canada down the road. Johnson is a pretty useless pick, but I guess the other goalies refused and I'm guessing that Comrie (whose father is a big supporter of hockey in Canada) is just along for the ride. Have to think that they are looking at the St. Louis/Nashville series and thinking that it will yield a valuable defenceman at some point.

Skinner Scheifele MacKinnon
Duchene Giroux Simmonds
Konecny O'Reilly Marner
Schenn Couturier Point
Killorn

Vlasic Barrie
De Haan Morrissey
Matheson Demers

Pickard

The strength of the team is clearly down the middle, but having three rookie RWs is odd. Putting Ellis/Parayko into a top four RD spot would make the defence a lot nicer.

"Just the Worlds"? What else do we have?

Currently it's the most important international hockey tournament there is.
