There is two John Dan Macdonalds in the community of a little over one thousand where I grew up.

Good stuff.

It's a little surprising that one isn't John Dan Neil MacDonald and one isn't John Dan Michael MacDonald, or something like that.

Didn't get to see any of the game yesterday...haven't checked out the TSN highlights just yet either, but will get to it this morning...

but encouraging for a first skate in weeks for these players.

I really hope a few St. Louis players join in on the fun, Parayko especially.

Couple of solid additions to this team, then we should be okay to win a couple of elimination games.

Parayko would be fine, though I'm not a big fan of his. Pietrangelo is the ideal St. Louis addition, but that calibre of player shouldn't be expected. I don't expect another forward to be added.

working from home was the golden ticket. It was a relaxing few years, but starting in August that all changes. Will be moving south of the border for a few years, but within driving distance to my favorite NHL team.

Working from home, wish i could get that gig.

You still going to be doling the same line of work in the U.S?

lol, for sure.

What don't you like about Parayko?, every time I have watched him he has been real good, St Louis got a diamond in the rough there IMO.

Pietro would be nice, but it's a longshot. I'll be disappointed if Schwartz and Parayko are not added. Parayko would be fantastic with Vlasic playing 25-26 TOI.

Had never heard of this Chris Lee guy so decided to do some snooping around about the guy.

Never even played major junior, and he's no spring chicken either, the guy is 37.

Oh well, he scored a goal yesterday anyway. Big opportunity for this guy, bet you he never dreamed he would be on Team Canada at a tournament like this.

This guy best KHL defensman

KHL Burns version
65 points in 60 matches.

He just almost never impresses me when I watch St. Louis. I find that really tall defencemen often get overrated. The defenceman will make a good play and people will give him credit for it, and then extra credit just for being tall, as if that wasn't part of the play they just made. Chara received that benefit all the time, even when he became a near liability defensively. I wouldn't turn my nose up at Parayko for this tournament as the guy could use the experience, but I definitely would have rathered what Nashville could have yielded.

TV Sched for Friday

Russia v Sweden TSN 1 and 4 10:00 EST

Finland v Belarus TSN 3 and 5 10:00 EST

Czech Rep v Canada TSN 1 3 4 and 5 2:00 PM EST

I don't see a listing for the USA v Germany game on any of the TSN channels.

a little disappointing. I'd like to switch back and forth from the Canada to U.S. game.

Huh. I thought the Bell Media release said they were showing every game.

Hmm, interesting.

Every time I watch him I am impressed and he has been an asset for the Blues. Breaks up plays, quite smart defensively with strong skating and good positioning, no slouch offensively either, can play pretty physical too.

I quite like him myself.

Strengths, weak points?

Same as any defender like Letang or Burns, Subban, Giordano.

He plays better in attack than in defense:)

However, LEE very good in PP .

O.K, give us a run down on his play if you don't mind.

Strengths, weak points?

Probably the best offensive D-man in the KHL, he's really taken to the big ice. But he can be a nightmare defensively.
A Lee-Vlasac pairing could be really good.

Thanks!!

I don't like that nightmare defensively stuff though, lol.

Maybe a p.p specialist guy for us or something. Maybe putting him with a guy like vlasic could work and he could take a regular shift. My guess is that he will probably play a pretty limited role though.

Chris Lee appears to be officially on the team.

https://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/Team-Canada/Men/National/2016-17/World-Championship/stats/team-rosters?teamid=268

I think it's a solid addition. Better a high end Europe based defenceman than a middling NHL defenceman. Interesting to see if Hockey Canada goes after a defenceman following round two.

Edmonton in the pickle juice now. I hope Hockey Canada has a ticket booked for Connor on the off chance he wants in on the fun. I'll take Connor and Parayko. I know you prefer Pietrangelo, but he looks somewhat gassed to me.

A little off topic, but howbout big Getzlaf. never my favorite player, but he still owns a spot on the NT. clutch performance.

just sort of juggling around the depth charts.. with injuries to Sid, JT and Stammer, our A team still looks to be in rather good shape, but after that it doesn't look too good for the B team. but, got to work on it a little more while I enjoy my morning coffee.

Always loved Getzlaf, to me he is a monster. Definately should be on the A-team imo. Doubt he will join this team if Ducks get knocked out.
