That's poor management. LaDue, Brodz, Fattenberg, and Kempe don't have to clear waivers. Kings could send all or one of them down. Kempe looks ready, Fattenberg has impressed but has Brodz or LaDue done enough for us to lose on of those other three?

Are you serious? It would suck to lose those guys but come on. None of those 3 have done anything to beat out any of Kempe, Fatenberg, LaDue or Brodzinski. Auger looked the best but no where near Brodzinski. Now he probably could beat out Andreoff or Nolan but that's it.

IMO...the last spots of this team will be between Nolan, Andreoff, Mersch, Auger. McDermid won't make the team because of depth and because he was out played by Gravel which he'll start in the AHL.

The Kings are playing a style which should produce more goals. So far they haven't played any teams in preseason capable of exposing the Kings defense.

I doubt this team wants to get into "fast break" games against Edmonton, Calgary, or Anaheim. Then factor in teams like Chicago, St. Louis, and Dallas which can also play the "run and gun" style much better than the Kings and I don't think it's a style the Kings can play against every team.

If they are going to change the identity of the team, it will take some time to get the personnel to make it work. The games likely will be higher scoring and perhaps more exciting, but I don't expect a big payoff in the standings.

So Kings are risking putting Mersch, Auger and McDermid thru waivers. Wow.

But honestly would any of these guys be considered a real “loss†to the organziation?

They were given the chance to beat out Kempe, Brodz, LaDue, Fantenburg, etc. and they haven’t.

I personally don’t see any of them being NHL-caliber players so I don’t see the point in keeping them on the roster over the other guys I mentioned

To your point in your post after the one I quoted, you say Brodz and LaDue haven’t done enough but what exactly have Mersch, Auger, and McD done to warrant roster spots over guys who actually have some NHL experience? Well besides the few games that Mersch played.

That Daniel guy I'm friends with who Is Frolovs cousin and I went backstage as Frolovs family a couple times and hung out with players wives and friends and took pics and autographs with said his grandpa still keeps in touch with Robitaille sometimes and said there is a good chance Dowd will be dealt. He said possibly to Pittsburgh if Pouliot doesn't make their team then the Kings brass might think he is a better fit and will move Dowd for Pouliott to strengthen their defense and that a defenseman will get moved for a top 6 forward. He said lot of teams are high on Ladue but the Kings don't want to move him. Supposedly Kings are in on Duchene still but they've asked for Ladue and Pearson.

I'm not trying to say I have any sources I don't nor is this a legitimate rumor just something I heard and I'm posting it as speculation. But my friend really is Frolovs cousin and his grandpa is friends with Robitaille that's how I met my favorite player of all time Lucky Luc and took pics and got his autographs. So just speculation.

I mean I guess that would make sense, Dowd will be expendable with Shore, Kempe, and Amadio. Pouliot would probably be a project but could have good potential

Kings brass is pretty high on Amadio as am I . Love what the kid brings . He is going to be a good one. And is making players expendable. Rosen also pretty much confirmed our roster and Dowd is not in it. He also said Lokti will not make the team nor is he in our future plans so I guess we'll see if anything comes of it . Don't know much about Pouliot but defenseman do take longer to develop and Kings have one of if it the best development team.

If Toffoli has another underwhelming season, then I think it's safe to say Pearson is the better player of the two. I already feel that he is. But this season will show it.

Ville Pokka (and Kenny Agostino) on waivers. Both very good AHL-Players and maybe good Callups during a long season. Especially Pokka would make sense to me.

Agostino's name sounded familiar and it turns out he led the AHL in scoring a year ago (24 goals, 83 pts, 65 games). His talent is there , not sure why he couldn't win a spot on the Bruins. But at 875K, and with his talent, he shouldn't clear waivers. Kings have nothing to lose , picking him on for wing. Somebody will.

I think we may have our opening night roster today in practice and I like it . I wanted Iaffalo and Kempe together both speedsters

Cammy-Kopitar-Brown
Pearson-Carter-Toffoli
Iaffalo-Kempe-Dowd
Clifford-Shore-Lewis
Andreoff,Laich

Forbort-Doughty
Muzzin-Martinez
Macdermid-Folin
Fantenberg

I love having Dowd as a winger I think they realized he would be better than Brodzinski who started slipping up on his opportunities. Laich will get a contract as a veteran presence and maybe has something left in the tank. Brodz and Auger go to Ontario.

Lee will be let go of PTO , Ladue will go down to Ontario and this is shaping up to be the roster. I just hope Macdermid and Folin won't be to much of a liability other then that I love the lines. Any insight on how Iaffalo has looked ?

That is nearly my exact lineup. Defensively I'd go with Fantenberg with Folin and MacDermid contesting the number 6 spot. Like you I want to see Iaffalo start as 3LW, it then becomes between Broz and Dowd for the 3RW with the other guy in the press box as our first spare forward. If Iaffalo makes it (he's the long shot) then I think Dowd will play over Broz by virtue of having that little bit more NHL experience. They will then battle it out to see who stays on that line when Gaborik is fit for a few weeks.

I'd the go with Andreoff or Laich as the second spare forward. I'm minded that IF he is fit, Laich would have to be a better choice than AA. He's got more upside and would be easy to plug into the bottom 6. I'd be telling Clifford that if he doesn't bring his best game every night then Laich will get the chance to do so.

So I'd be sending Auger and Andreoff down. With Broz to follow them to Ontario when Gaborik is ready. Ladue will get sent down also and the best Lee gets is an AHL deal. If he were 10 yrs younger it would be a different story.

It still wouldn't surprise me if one of Muzzin or Martinez is moved, which would see then Ladue come back into the top 4 D. However, I think that now looks more likely to be nearer the trade deadline.

I can't wait to see the last decisions made and how they perform opening night. Rosen just posted a blog about all the bubble players and their chances of making the team , it would contradict the lineup I posted so I'm just going to wait and see.

Another stat I saw from Stevens that I like is he is playing the top players less on the pk and leaving it to specialists like Shore and Lewis so our top forwards have more energy to create offense. Doughty also played pretty much no PK in Arizona which is a good thing. I like Stevens mindset ; advocates lot of what has been said by myself and others about how the league is evolving and you need to adapt or stay behind.
