Bombers released International DE Justin Cole today. Odd decision to release their top returning DE on the eve of training camp.

I guess other end spot from Westerman will be on open competition between returning Shayon Green (6 starts, 13 games, 22 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 int last year), ex Argonaut returning from an NFL stint in Tristan Okpalaugo (35 starts, 36 games, 55 tackles, 23 sacks, 2 int, 5 ff in 14 and 15 with TOR), and rookie Jackson Jeffcoat who spent last 3 seasons with the Browns.

You're joking right? You do realize they already have okpalaugo pencilled in right?

So why not let training camp and pre-season decide it? I think some of this team's problems stem from dumping players because they believe they have someone better coming in, and that turns out to not be the case.

Apparently Cole was running his mouth on social media last year. Might have been a personality issue.

Wade, Walters and O'Shea come across as straight shooters and stand up guys and I would bet they only want character guys on the team and rightly so!

Really liked the players the Bombers got in the draft!

Not sure Stafford falls into that category, but we'll see how things work out. Perhaps he will be better separated from his Cussin' Cousin Carter.

Yea this was an issue last year late in the season. Still a bit odd they waited this long I wonder if something else happened?

But if you are not paying out any money and you can release at any time, why not get a lay of the land and go through free agency and the draft before making a decision?

Really looking forward in seeing the Blue wrecking the Riders opening day party for their new stadium, heck Kevin Glenn is the Riders projected starter and that speaks volumes on how bad the Riders season this year will be!

TSN dropped the ball again, they are showing four preseason games and the Bombers/Riders game isn't one of them and this in the inaugural game in SK's new stadium with (probably) the only CFL sellout this preseason!:help:

Shirley, you can't expect them to preempt UFC Fight Night for a CFL pre-season game. :sarcasm:

IIRC they don't really have 5 channels.

One is a national channel, and the rest are regional, just for the purposes of broadcasting NHL games.

2 are national, 3 are regional. TSN 1 and 2 are both national channels.

Even then, just put it on TSN 3 for Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Doesn't matter if it's preseason, it will still be big ratings for those two provinces, much more than a barbaric stupid excuse of a sport like UFC.

Couldn't agree more, hence the :sarcasm: in my earlier post.

All 5 TSNs are national channels in the sense that often the same programs will be shown on a number of them (just as right now TSN 1, 3, 4 and 5 are showing the French Open), and all are available across Canada (depending on your cable package). Sometimes the programs vary on them (just as later today at 2 P.M. TSN 1, 3, 4 and 5 are showing three different programs), often due to regional considerations such as TSN's contracts for regional telecasts of Jets, Sens and Leafs games. TSN, or Bell rather, obviously uses the channels for marketing purposes, playing one off against the others in an attempt to sell more of the out-of-region packages to people within a separate region. For example, they often show Formula 1 races only on TSN5, meaning that if you don't want to be screwed, and you live in Manitoba, you have to subscribe to the whole bunch. They've even done that with the Canadian Grand Prix, arguably the biggest sporting event in Canada, the last couple of years (and this year again more or less).

TSN1 is the arm of TSN that services BC, Alberta and the Yukon, just as TSN3 is the arm that services Manitoba (etc.). They are not the same as TSN2, which is often a dumping ground for obscure crap and repeats and really is the only one of the TSNs that is always the same no matter where you are or what time it is.

TSN1: Primary feed for British Columbia, Alberta and Yukon
TSN3: Primary feed for Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut, Northwest Territories and parts of Northern Ontario (including 60 regional Winnipeg Jets games)
TSN4: Primary feed for Ontario, excluding Ottawa (including 26 regional Toronto Maple Leafs games)
TSN5: Primary feed for Ottawa, parts of Southeastern Ontario, Quebec and all Atlantic Canada (including 53 regional Ottawa Senators games)

CFL football between rivals the Blue and Green would easily eclipse UFC even with a CFL preseason game.

Agree with you on UFC!

What's the point of having five ***** TSN stations when 3 or 4 of them show the same thing.

Even Sportsnet was never this bad with their regional splits.
