Tyler Benson is putting up the kind of numbers we expected from Yamamoto - 23 points in his last 12 games, while Yams is ice cold.

Prospects, man. Linear development is just not a thing.

Yep. Benson with 3 points tonight and Yamamoto with another pointless game.

Right? It's almost like people don't get that prospect development is not linear.

I think Yamamoto is going to be fine.
No one is saying he won't be. Still disappointing to see him not playing so well and on their third line.

Definitely liking some of our picks out of this last draft. Despite Yamamoto's struggles I'm not worried and think he'll be a great pick for a late first rounder.

Really happy with the Safin and Maksimov picks. Both highly skilled guys and both currently leading their QMJHL and OHL teams in scoring. Not sold on Samorukov's offensive upside, but I do like his combination of mobility, physicality and size, and puck moving. Seems like a guy who could be a really solid transition D someday.

I try to make make things a little off-beat. It's a lot better than saying beat, won, lost, etc., over and over again. It does take a little bit of thinking when a team's nickname is one-dimensional, like "Petes".
When they lose you could say they Petered out.

Phil Kemp and Kailer Yamamoto named to the 28 man camp roster for USA U20's.

Nice to see Kemp make their camp roster, should I be surprised by this? I honestly haven't paid much attention to him.

Yamamoto isn't a surprise, but if we're being honest it's based more on what he's done in the past instead of what he's done this year. Hopefully he repays Team USA's faith in him.

Eh Yamamoto had some good games at the NHL level, but just couldn't manage to bury any of his chances. He's earned it because he deserves to be there and a 10 game sample from junior doesn't change that.

Kemp I'm not surprised got an invite. He's had some good reviews from NCAA this year and was on the U18 team last year. Not sure if he'll make it, but he's certainly looking like much more of a quality prospect than I originally thought when we selected him.
