- Matt Taormina with 14 points in 12 games.
- Byron Froese with 10 points in 12 games.
- Daniel Audetten with 7 points in 12 games.
- Jakub Jerabek with 6 points in 10 games.
- Peter Holland with 8 points in 10 games.
- Daniel Carr with 10 points in 10 games.

And Scherbak is still with his 9 points in 6 games. I'm still not crazy that Habs rushed to call him up. I don't think he'd be hurt if he stayed in Laval and I'm sure his production would be through the roof.

Should of given Carr a chance instead of Scherbak. Always liked Carr. I fear he is turning into a career AHLer ala Terry.

I am surprised to see the Rocket still in the top 10. I have popped into this thread now and then and I thought Laval was getting horrible goaltending and were losing a lot. Sure 6-4-2 isn't the best record in the world, but its the 7th best in the AHL so its not like other teams are cleaning up.

the issue isnt goaltending but more defensive play from all the team. scoring goal isnt an issue they just can't seem to play defensively at all. morrow and juulsen should help there hopefully

Stefan is 1er rookie def in pts ( ahl).

He's been real solid. I had no idea this kid existed before the OHL Final last year when he played for the Mississauga Steelhead. But even then, I didn't pay much attention to him. And when they signed him to an AHL contract, I wasn't expecting much. Yet, here I am a few weeks into the season and I'm impressed with him. Good signing.

Seriously if I was the Habs I'd call up at least one of Jerabek and Taormina. They can't really be worse of the trash we got in our 3rd pair.

Don't be fooled by their success in Laval. I do think Jerabek can do well in NHL. But he's still got things to work on. His transition to North America hasn't gone as smoothly as I expected. As for Taormina, he's played a few games in the NHL in Tampa and he was a non-factor. He is a career AHL'er and that is still a good thing to have in your farm team.

Some say it's better late than never.....I just realize why they put the The Rock song when we're going to powerplay....'cause you can hear "the Rocket" in the phrase......Again, better late than never.

Oh and I don' tknow who sang the anthem Saturday, but have to say that while, WAY LESS CUTER, the guy that sang the anthem on Friday is just a much much much better than the girls we have reunited.

Taormina wasn't good in Tampa because he was having like 13 minutes of TOI. With normal 6th D minutes like 16-17 and some PP time I'm sure he can be a sleeper.

He'll be playing about 13 minutes if he comes to Montreal. And he surely won't see much PP time ahead of other defensemen like Weber and Petry. Right now, both PP units are 4F-1D.

Last night:
1st wave: Drouin-Pacioretty-Shaw-Lehkonen-Weber
2nd wave: Gallagher-Galchenyuk-Danault-Hudon-Petry

Taormina would be much better on the PP than a Lehkonen or Hudon at the point. He wouldn't be a world saver but I am convinced he has better to offer than Davidson and Morrow.

Taormina just isn't quick enough to do his thing in the NHL, especially defensively. He gets by in the AHL with his smarts and anticipation but that extra second isn't there at the next level, even more so when you're a small guy. We saw it during the pre-season games in September, he was a lot less noticeable and had to simplify his game a ton to survive. You can't be a PP only specialist.

I don't think at the NHL level, he has more to offer than Davidson and/or Morrow. At most, I believe he'll bring the same as them. And that would be a waste of a call up.

And he would not be much better on the PP than Hudon or Lehkonen, especially Hudon, who has a lot more creativity and better control of the puck.

He never got a real shot in the NHL apart from half a season with the Devils in which he was pretty damn good for a bottom pair D (decent point amount and a little above average corsi) so how can you all say that?

Well that further proves my point that he never got a fair shake in the NHL after that. And I am saying that knowing Bergevin probably thinks like you concerning Taormina but I always saw him as a guy who often got passed over because of his size and the fact he was undrafted.

Some guys just plateau at the AHL level. Look at Terry he lights the AHL on fire but is not an NHLer. Like someone said its the speed and talent in the NHL. You don't have that extra second and every player you are playing against is essentially the best hockey player in the world.

I am sure there will be some injuries here or there and he gets a shot but I wouldn't expect his AHL numbers to translate. I think he could be better than Morrow, but Davidson isn't that bad to me. Either way all 3 of those guys are fringe guys anyways.

I think Carr is going the same way. I still want to see him up with the club and every time I see him play I like his game. But right now he is tracking to become an AHL star but not an NHL player.

He probably got passed over because whenever he did get the chance, he didn't show much. It has nothing to do with his size and the fact he was undrafted. The league has been full of smaller sized players and undrafted ones for years. That doesn't stand.
