A Stanley cup winning coach felt Boll was useful if he wasn't injured would be in the lineup. I have a feeling his injury is worse than is reported

Pretty sure you can't waive an injured player, or that he would have to pass a medical if a team was to claim him.

So Roy is possible to be the odd man out once Silf comes back, but that is not a bad thing, we can all hope that he goes back to SD really hungry and working on his game some more. If he will get better, he will be back anyway.

So it looks like for now:
Rakell-Getzlaf-Perry
Cogliano-Henrique-Silfverberg

That is at least an adequate top 6.
Fun fact: Getz went out vs Carolina (this is not fun tho), and he might be back again in the game vs Canes

Really wish there was a way Roy could stay, but he'd have to push a regular out of the lineup to do it. I doubt Carlyle is ready for that and I don't really blame him.
On the other hand we still have Kase, so if Randy goes for a skilled 3d line, there would be a place for Roy, but the initial report is that Roy skated with Kes and Rasmussen - reserves, so...

Having read Stephens' most recent article, that's clearly what they're struggling with for Roy. They're not sure that he's a checker and they don't want to limit his minutes. He's earned his place but has he played well enough to displace someone pin a scoring line?

Well, offensively I think he would fit in well with Rico and Silf, but yeah I strongly doubt Randy is ready to take Cogs out of that supposed shutdown line. Roy still can learn and improve in the A so it`s not the end of the world.

I just listened to an interview of Taylor hall and he kept going on and on about how henrique was a center and how he hopes he gets the opportunity play center here

If Boll gets claimed he will be replaced immediately by Llambias or another enforcer

Even playing Liambas or another enforcer (who actually enforces) over Boll is an upgrade. It looks like Carlyle finally sees what all of us (including those of us who are still pro fighting/enforcing) have been telling you: Boll is shit. I can't stand Shaw and Rasmussen but give me these guys every day over Boll. Your infatuation with Boll is unbelievably puzzling because he literally does nothing. He fights (and often loses) other pointless players. I'm not necessarily against this, as I do think it can spark a team at times. However, does he retaliate when our players are getting cheap shotted? No. Does he make the other team fear him when he's out there? No. Does he belong in the NHL? No. FINALLY Carlyle sees this.

I don't agree with the decision to put Rico on the checking line. Would much rather leave him with Perry on the 2nd/3rd line.

Kase-Getzlaf-Rakell
Roy-Henrique-Perry
Cogliano-Vermette-Silfverberg
Wagner-Grant-Shaw

This is what our forward lineup should look like for the upcoming game.

Basicly Manson does a much better job of being a enforcer than Boll even though he doens't have the enforcer title. Its for that reason i liked Manson paired with Fowler, so if anyone pulls a Giordano, Manson is right there to go after another teams goon.

Looks though both Roy and Megna have been sent down.

"Grit" seems to have won over skill again.

I don't agree with the decision to put Rico on the checking line. Would much rather leave him with Perry on the 2nd/3rd line.

Kase-Getzlaf-Rakell
Roy-Henrique-Perry
Cogliano-Vermette-Silfverberg
Wagner-Grant-Shaw

This is what our forward lineup should look like for the upcoming game.

I would split Kase / Rakell / Getzlaf. They are best 3 offensive players but I would spread the wealth a little bit. I also don't want to overwork Getzlaf to start, so I'd put more of a grinder with him. I like Wagner there personally.

I do like the idea of putting Vermette with Silfverberg and Cogliano and make them a defensive specialist line so that Henrique could take on more a 2 way role. Henrique seems dangerous with Perry so I don't want to split them up yet.

I also can't wait to get Shaw out of the lineup. I know Ritchie hasn't done much better, but Shaw does nothing for me. Put Wagner on his natural side and Ritchie on the 4th line wing.

For now I would drop Roy to the 4th line to give some offensive creativity to go on the 4th line.

So I would do this:

Wagner Getzlaf Rakell
Kase Henrique Perry
Cogliano Vermette Silfverberg
Roy Grant Shaw/Ritchie

Megna is terrible so that’s no issue, although it sure seems like we’re overloaded on righties now that Welinski has taken his place.

Sucks for Roy because he clearly proved he could play in this league. But like a few people above mentioned, it’s probably not a benefit to him or the team to have him play 5-10 minutes on a line with no other offensive threats, which is what likely would have happened now that Getz and Silf are back. I don’t necessarily agree with that, but that’s the situation the team saw happening.

I like that a lot. First line and 2nd line should be scoring goals and 3rd line should be an effective shut down line. I could even see a similar rotation with Kes in the lineup just moving Vermie down.

I hear what you're saying but Perry Henriqu and Roy have a ton of skill and can score goals so I wouldnt be worried. I think with Getz you want to surround him with a ton of skill and guys that can maintain possession which is why I like Kase and Rakell with him. Kase Rakell and Getz can all win puck battles as well.

The problem with that is Manson should never be fighting scrub 4th liners. That's why i'm not opposed to having some type of enforcer in the lineup. However, you can't have someone who's a liability on the ice, and you damn sure can't ice an enforcer who simply doesn't enforce (BOLL). Don't get me wrong, more often than not we should not ice an enforcer but I do think there are teams where it merits having one. If I'm Carlyle I'm sitting Ritchie down and telling him he needs to be more involved physically because he's clearly not earning his keep by offense/skill alone.

Completely agree about pairing Manson with Fowler though. Fowler plays his best when he's paired with someone who's more physical. Really hoping we try Fowler/Manson and Lindholm/Montour.

Roy not playing over Shaw or Rasmussen is a joke. Even on the 4th line.

Fowler still has the lowest hits per game on the Ducks D i'm guessing ? Thats another reason i like him playing with Manson, he brings hits to that pairing.

Ritchie aka fat boy should be the one enforcing, but he acts so entitled and doesn't want to anymore similar to how maroon and beleskey got before they left.

send his ass to san diego to show him he better step it up or he can develop down there.
