it's still a save situation because he could've earned a save if he had finished the game from that spot. otherwise there would be no such thing as a blown save because by your logic it would be impossible to have a save situation that doesn't end in a save (by virtue of the game being over)

It was set up relief that blew the game. The closer (Cecil) was only in the game early because the 8th inning guy (Loup) was awful. Cecil pretty much did his job. He got a strike out and then a ground ball that bounced off his glove.

He catches that ball he goes home and then to first for a DP.

Not saying those 2 have overpowering stuff but they have the ability to K people on a regular basis vs Cecil or Loup

It was Loup's runner that scored the winning run. Thus, the loss goes to him.

Cecil gave up the hit that allowed the runner to score, thus blowing the save.

Why does Gibby feel the need to yank Castro after 4 pitches? I feel as if he has absolutely no sense of in game management and is only about paper matchups. How he is still the manager of this team is beyond me.

Also, Joey and Josh need to wake the **** up already. Both look horrible at the plate.
