But anyways Aleksi Saarela from Finland is already making some noise and seems line a very promising player.

I find ok such topics. in 4 years we can compare, how much true is here. Thats not a long time.

Btw. from Slovakia i heard something about one Defensman. Hm, but i dont know, if im correct with his name - Adrian Sloboda from HK 36 Skalica. As a 14 years old he played regularly in SVK U 18 league.

I believe Sloboda was born in August 1996 which would make him eligible in 2014 already.

A name to remember that I have heard for Slovakia was 1997 born forward Peter Valent from Banská Bystrica.

There's nothing wrong with starting this thread now. The 2014 thread was posted 3 years out, so was the 2013, 2012, etc.

I know a lot of people, including me, are interested in learning about the kids 2-3 years away from being drafted. I was reading about Yakupov 3-4 years before he was a household name, and that was largely because of a thread just like this one. As such, I had followed Yakupov for a couple of years before he was drafted in the Import Draft. As soon as he was taken, I bought tickets to some Sarnia games, saw him play live a few times before he started tearing up the OHL. Sure, most of the kids talked about 2-3 years before their draft won't amount to much, but some do realize their potential. I can name all kinds of players that I learned about long before they were household names because of threads on HFBoards just like this one.

So, if anyone else wants to post some worthwhile comments about kids eligible in the 2015 draft, by all means go ahead. I for one will certainly appreciate it, and I know many others will do.

My cousin. She has an August 1997 dob. :sarcasm:

In all honesty, I believe Couturier was first identified as a potential top pick back in summer 2007. So I don't think it's much of a stretch at all to be talking about this draft at this point.

8 year olds, Dude.

1996 and 1997 born players are 14 years old?

Late 1996's have already been drafted into the WHL, with 1997 players now being scouted for next years Bantom Draft.

Ill be scouting 1996's where im sure there will be some high end late birth year players who will be drafted into the OHL this year.

Its a shame we cant have a mature discussion on prospects that are being scouted by CHL and US College programs without the same, unoriginal comments. I should cut this response would and re-paste it every thread lol.

I never saw Ivan Kashtanov play so I can not comment on him as someone posted him bellow. Still a long time away but here are 30 guys to start to target right now, of course a lot will change by this time but right now this is who I think are the top talents...and for everyone who thinks this is too early well im a scout in the QMJHL and I know us as a Q team and NHL scouts start to follow the guys at this age so if you can not get your head around players at 14 and 15 years old well just thank yourself your not a scout then.

Three years from now, I'm going to be... older.

While I like the discussion, I hate that reminder.

Scoutman1, I am interested in what you think of Adam Musil from South Delta (David Musils brother). That is if you have had a look at him?

I thought he looked really good, as good as his brother and in a better environment at the same age. I am now unable to follow him as I am no longer in Vancouver and pretty far from hockey so I would be interested in your opinion?

k so Duchesne probably the best dman from maritimes in a LONG time so far, played canada games as a 13 year old in a 15 year old tournament as a double underager (i don't think was ever done before) and was one of the better dmen.

Nathan Noel has been drawing comparisons to Nathan Mackinnon at the same age including by A LOT of NHL agents too.

Picco big, mobile, smart and skilled, NHL agents are going nuts so far over this guy and I know because I know a few of them.

Tower is going to play midget next year as a 14 year old, and is an amazing two way player.

A few weeks ago I was talking with Deschenes coach from last year and apparently he is hovering around 200 lbs now.
