Just an FYI Adam Huska now has the best GAA and save percentage in the USHL, 1.94 GAA & .933 SV%, slightly ahead of Daniel Vlader who was a third round pick in this years draft.

It's not a very high scoring the league but nevertheless its still impressive.

I always thought Darth Vladar would be a higher pick than the 3rd round. He's dropped so much. Huska is a long-term project so we'll see how it goes. He should go to the NCAA to truly develop

Shesterkin, Havlerson, Skapski, Hellberg & Huska

Holy Goalie Thworp!!!!

:amazed::amazed:

Shesterkin is the only one looking promising this year. Skapski's numbers are brutal in both AHL and ECHL this season. Halverson is terrible in the juniors. Hellberg has been very inconsistent in Hartford and does not look like he'll be anything more than a backup in the NHL, if that. Huska is playing in the USHL, the lowest level where a real prospect in North America can play.

Didn't both Skapski and Halverson have some lower body injuries that kept them from starting their seasons? Are they still trying to find their games again?

Hip surgery for Skapski and a high ankle sprain for Halverson

Believe Hellberg got hurt a few weeks ago also

Shesterkin got rewarded for his shut out last game by getting sent down to the VHL.

Former Islander Mikko Koskinen played with Ezhov as the backup. Ezhov is the best goalie on Ska, but looks like he's battled injuries. He's very good at the KHL level. Koskinen also is one of the top goalies in Europe. In addition to being a second rounder with a little NHL experience, he's put up phenomenal numbers in the KHL and other Euro leagues. Then there's Skrynnik as additional decent competition for Shesterkin. He really needs to get traded away from the Ska.

P.S. There's a Russian goalie Anton Kraskotkin available to be drafted who's put up insane numbers: 0.67 in the Russian Juniors, shut up in his VHL start, shut out in his KHL start. When a goalie gives up 4 goals in 8 games playing decent to very good level of hockey, someone should go take a look at him. Just the sole fact that coaches thought highly enough of his to call him up to the KHL as an 18 year old is a big sign.

Yeah, the goalie situation with SKA is not really healthy for Shesterkin. He needs to be traded ASAP.

fogarty with a goal tonight

He's improved consistently as a prospect, let's hope he improves in his final 25 college games. Next year will be a tough fight for him in Hartford with Rambo, Nieves, Iverson, Hrivik and Nehring all competing with him for center spots. Even if Nieves is shifted to the wing, he still has Rambo, Hrivik, Iverson and Nehring as competition. (Nehring is playing very well in Hartford, Iverson though may have to start in the ECHL.)

I don't like the idea of prospects starting on the 4th line in the AHL, so hopefully he wins a third line spot with Rambo, Hrivik and Nehring as the other Hartford centers. Bourque, Glass, Nieves are the likely top-9 LWs, though Nieves still has to prove he can keep up in the AHL.

Gropp and his team lost 7-1 tonight. Gropp scored the lone goal. Has 14 goals and 7 assists in the last 16 games.

I think the Rangers would be more than willing to let Hrivik walk to make room for Fogarty. Just my thoughts on the situation.

Hrivik has been in the system for a while. I think they know what they have with him (which isn't much)

Aleksi Saarela with the team's two goals today. 8 goals in his last 9 games.

Also had a breakaway, and a couple of posts with the season high 9 shots he took for the second time this season.

Sounds like he's really turning it on lately. Do you think he's likely to be more of a goal scorer or playmaker?

Wow, 8 goals in the last 9 games for an 18 year old in that league? That's pretty much unheard of.

Saarela is #2 in U20 point leaders in Liiga, with 10-5-15. Sebastian Aho (Hurricanes prospect) leads with 10-11-21. Saarela is just a few months older.

Very impressive for an 18 year old. Can't wait to see how he develops over the next few years.

Elite prospects says it ends after the end of this season. Maybe he'll be playing with Hartford next season. If he's really good, possibly the Rangers, although thats very unlikely.
