It means if you aren't good enough to play in the league with any success then you won't get much better while playing in it.

Acting like I said players plateau the moment they come to the NHL is obtuse af.

no shit the NHL isn't a "developmental league", it's a pro league where teams are trying to win games

the SHL isn't a "developmental league" either, the NHL just happens to be a better league

hell not even the AHL is truly a "developmental league"

all of this is so obvious it's pointless to even say unless you're trying to use semantics to defend guys like Edvinsson that are clearly ready not playing in the NHL or something silly like that

The AHL is very much a development league. Some say it performs so poorly as a development league that it effectively is not a development league, but.... it's designed to be a development league.

Bellingham, WA
It most definitely is, as it has a cap on how many vets you can have.

Not to mention that most of the AHL teams are managed by the NHL affiliate team. For example, Horcoff is a Red Wing employee.

If the AHL wasn't a development team, they'd hire their own GM.

Or I could've just been talking about ASP.

These slow-ish but sneaky long range wrist shots are his specialty. Curious to see if that part of his game translates to the NHL. He might have to put a little bit more power into his shots but they should be dangerous regardless.

Regardless its incredible to see these numbers at such a young age. Just enjoying that he is currently a high tier prospect. Maybe our future powerplay QB.

Is he back in SHL next season or Griffins?

I know it’s partly due to injury, but even more than the points, seeing him get major minutes in the playoffs is a great sign IMO.

He can opt out of that contract until June 15 if the Wings want to bring him over.

He's good enough at the fundamental aspects of the game that he needs to start adapting to NA ice. That's going to be the make or break of his development, since his play style seems to rely heavily on space and time.

Grand Rapids is where most of our best prospects go to lose their luster. Never seen such a buzz kill as Grand Rapids

I always thought one of his strengths was a good, solid, accurate shot.? Many pages ago, it seemed unanimous, while questionable elite skating and defense were issues.???
Yes, those type of shots, will not always go in, but lidstrom scored a lot of those in his NHL career. But this is why you always shot it at the net. Sneak in or rebounds equals scoring chances. We had plenty against the caps but failed to capitalize!!!

Good thing 90% of his goals are absolute bombs then.

Franzen-like accuracy is a gift, not a learned skill. The accuracy of ASP's shot is something that translates to NHL ability and we could definitely use on the blueline.

Pellikka currently leads all U23s in playoff scoring, T-7th in overall scoring, T-3rd in D scoring, and has less games than most of the players ahead of him.

Could he come over, go through camp and be sent back on loan if the team feels that is in his best interest?
