I know +/- is a stat that can be overvalued. However the big man, over the past 10 seasons (including his +13 so far this year), has amassed a amazing +192!! Nearly +20 average for past 10 years — all in his 30’s and early 40’s.

He’s had just four minus seasons (-8, -27, -27 and -21 — three of which came in first years with Islanders and in ‘06/‘07 in Boston) over a 22 year career to date. Total for career (including -82 in those four years) is a staggering +275. Amazing.

Plus 52 over 182 playoff games to boot.

Amazing career. Way to go Big Z.

He'll be playing his 1,000th game with the Bruins in 31 games. Pretty crazy considering how much of a rep he built up with the Sens (and a little with the Isles).

Well, he emerged as a top NHL defenceman with the Senators after being a bit of a freak of nature with the Isles (and a throw-in piece in the Yashin trade).

It doesn't seem that long ago to me but he wasn't around for the 2007 Senators Cup final appearance which was 13 years ago.

Time flies.

About 10-30 of them should've been suspensions

Just realized the game is in Montreal. Interested to see if they acknowledge it in the stadium and how the crowd reacts.

I’d bet they mostly cheer the announcement and then boo him whenever he has the puck like they normally do. I think Hab fans can respect the achievement and still hate the player as well or better than any fan base out there.
Its also 1 of 19 games the Habs get to face a team on the tail end of a back to back, cheaters.

1500 x 25 mins a game , ÷ 1440 ( mins in a day) = 26 days. Dude played 26 days.
Interestingly he came into the NHL right when they started tracking TOI (at least for NHL.com) in 1997/98. 36,088:32 played. So he's played 25 days, 1 hour, 28 minutes, 32 seconds.

Next closest is Thornton at 30,295:54.

One of the most dominating Dmen to ever play the game. Still can't believe OTT chose to resign Redden and let Chara walk. What a crippling decision.
