There’d be a little vanity involved for sure but it’s also a pretty significant milestone. Including this year, it’s a mark that’s only been achieved 40 times, in the last 20 years. Right now Kucherov is 3 points away from having the highest single season point production, in the last 20 years....I doubt he’s sitting either.

This is going to be a great opportunity for Neal, Jankowski and Bennett to produce with added minutes and responsibility.

More importantly I like the mini break for the top 4 d-men. Hamonic in particular could use some time to heal the bumps and bruises accumulated since the all-star break.
